I had this company come in and sell me on switching to their service  for credit card payments.  I found their sales pitch deceptive.  They implied that I was in violation of Visa rules by being with a different processor that did not specialize in medical payments.  They also did their best to imply over the phone that they were with visa rather than just a ACH processor.  I'm sure they put enough weasel words in their pitch to avoid prosecution.    

I signed  their contract but after researching the company I found a lot of disturbing practices and decided to cancel service.  It cost me $600 even though I never used their product once or even turned on the credit card machine.

That's fine.  I signed a contact without researching first and got what I deserved on that.  But when I canceled their service I still got charged $28 the next month. When I called they said that was an outside "service company"  that I would have to cancel separately  oh and there is a 3 month buyout so I am going to get charged another $100 when all is said and done.   I signed one contract through their company I should not have to cancel separately through another company. 

Having to pay off this company is the best $700 I ever spent, because I am never going to get taken by a slimy sales team again or get pressured to sign a contract without taking the time to carefully read the whole thing.  It was a good learning experience for me.  Don't make the same mistake.

I have tried to remove this complaint but the site does not remove under any circumstances even if the author requests it.

 I want to clear up a few items.  I did not mean to suggest that I didnt know the company I was signing up with when I signed the actual contract. I knew I was signing up with Retriever.

What happened was this; after I signed up I got nervous that I was leaving my processor which I was not unhappy with so I
called to cancel Retriever.  I also found erroneous information about another company on the web. As it turned out, the bad information was not about Retriever Medical Dental Payments.  The President of Retriever contacted me and explained that they have a guarantee that is in writing on their agreement. I looked at the agreement and , indeed, it states that if they cant beat any written offer for the lifetime of my practice, or if the program fails to do anything that they promise, I may leave without any cancellation fee.  The only thing not covered in the guarantee is I just changed my mind.  That sounded reasonable to me and the features of the program sounded like they could help my practice so I am going to give their program a try. 

I did not realize that this site would not let me remove a complaint.  I even contacted them to request removal and it was
denied.  I hope this clears up all of the issues in my original post.

I have called this client and explained our program and he is happy.  He attempted to remove his original post but this site does not allow it under any circumstances. 

For any reader, I want to clarify what happened.  The doctor knew he was signing up with Retriever.  He surfed the net and found incorrect information about a different company and got nervous and canceled his account.  We do have a cancellation fee under those circumstances.  However, we have a guarantee on our agreement that if our program fails to do anything promised, the client may cancel at no cost or penalty.  It also guarantees that if we cannot beat any written offer for the lifetime of the doctors practice, they can cancel at no cost or penalty.  I walked the doctor through the features of our program and we are sending a representative in, free of charge, to train the staff and get them up and running.  I found him to be a very nice and reasonable man and I believe we will do business for a long time.

Retriever Medical Dental Payments has been in business for 22 years and has worked with over 20.000 healthcare professional offices. We process nearly 3 billion dollars per year in transactions and we are A+ rated at the B B B. We process for doctor's offices exclusively. We do not take on any retail accounts and we don't have any of the losses associated with stolen cards and other fraudulent activity that is common in a retail environment. Therefore we can offer better rates than retail based organizations.

The president of retriever medical called me. We had a good conversation.  I wish to remove my previous report as after talking to him I can see his side of the story better.   I'm going to give their processing company a chance.
