Later, one of their managers tried to justify the incident. Even later, the company was stung by bad publicity and refunded the drop fee, plus made a $500 donation (oooh, stunning) to a local charity.
Citizens in Portland are up in arms over this incident. There is talk of a protest march in January, and there is also talk of refusing to do business with any company that hires retriever towing. This is hardly the first time something has happened with this company. There are numerous tales of their unsavory predatory towing practices, and I have documented some of this information at www.towingutopia.com, my blog.
This company is the scum of the earth and everything possible should be done, within the law, to make sure they go out of business in the very near future.
