Buyer beware.

There is no way to tell if the foam is completely filling the wall cavity.

We found that some of the cavaties were empty or only partially full during remodel.

The job was not done as the estimate described.

Our response from the company was not favorable. They want to drill 3" holes in our drywall, foam the cavaties and leave it to us to repair the damaged drywall.

The blown in attic insulation ends about 2 ft from the perimiter and no soffit channels were installed.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

The "Other Side"

AUTHOR: Bobby - (United States of America)

Our customer's satisfaction and concerns are and always have been of paramount importance to us. If there is a concern we respond quickly, and when justified generously. This project was no exception.
I personally, went to our clients home the day after he reported his concern to us.
I explained why he did not "see" our foam in a stud bay that he had accessed during a tile remodel. His home was foamed in the "wythe cavity" only because there was existing fiberglass insulation in the stud wall. This is a widely accepted and an effective method to inject foam into walls with this type of configuration.
If the client wants the stud wall insulated as well (many do) then the stud wall cavities must be accessed from the inside or drywall side of the wall. Holes with diameters of 2 /12" or 3" are drilled into each stud bay and the foam is injected along side of  the existing fiberglass insulation. I offered to do this for the client at no cost to him. He turned down the offer and countered saying that he wanted $ 1,900 instead.
I saw no good business reason for handing a client a sizable amount of money for a job that we did properly and in compliance with the contract.
I still stand behind my offer of resolution, but, I must now add that he remove his negative report from this site. Respectfully.

Proper Installation

AUTHOR: Bobby - (United States of America)

The area between the back of the brick and the sheathing ( wythe cavity ) was foamed on this particular home. This is a widely accepted application on brick homes and it is the only recommended way to foam a brick home that already has fiberglass insulation in the stud bays. When a home has this wall configuration the only way to get insulation into the stud bays (that already have fiberglass insulation) is from the inside by going thru the drywall with 2 1/2" or 3"  holes in each stud bay.

I offered to do this at no cost to him ( this was far more than what was stated in the contract ).  I was quite surprised when the client turned down that offer of resolution.  He said he wanted $ 1,900 instead. I refused his suggestion because there was no reasonable business basis behind his counter offer. I still stand behind my offer today, but, now I have to include his removing this Rip Off Report from the site.

I stand willing to resolve his concern, just no willing to hand out $ 1,900 for a job that was properly performed. With respect.
