Let me start off by saying, I have a Richard Fuller Home. I agree with everyone, the rebuttal from the original person was probably Richard himself or someone in his organization, not a homeowner. I think that we all agree building a new home is a trying and time consuming proposition regardless of what builder you use. My home was no exception. We went through 5 foreman and numerous unqualified subcontractors during our almost 8 month build time. We had issues and still do. We liked the floor plan and design, but the quality of construction and warranty work are questionable at best. We share horrors stories with neighbors all the time. Each of us has a different one, but they all center around the two comments above. This builder, like any other, will cut corners when ever possible.

At the time of our build, he had under qualified foreman running the construction site who made mistake after mistake. Now that we are in our home we have had the a/c unit fixed numerous time, roof repaired twice and various other minor repairs. But, we still have a laundry list of repairs needed which seem to be ignored by Richard Fuller every time we request help. We have been plagued with a very poorly graded yard and are suffering through standing water, excess bugs and various other problems that arise with a poorly graded yard. In short, Richard Fuller designs a nice home, lots of amenities, but the build is questionable and the warranty service is horrible.

If building with Richard Fuller, I recommend staying on top things weekly if not daily and paying $300 or so for an independent inspection prior to closing. And the best advice that I can give..... don't close until the house is 100% the way you want it.... otherwise good luck.

I am saddened that anyone doing a rebuttal for any new home builder would stoop low enough to call a new home owner white trash. All it shows is the type of class associated with Richard Fuller Homes. This rebuttal probably came from an employee of Fuller homes because their class is about as much as what this person represented. god bless you all

Subject: Your EDitor's Comment

Dear Ed EDitor@RipoffReport.com

re: Rip-off Report #'s 4633,6250, and any other complaints on Richard Fuller Homes:

Your reply to the Contractor above was right on--the person who wrote that glowing review of Fuller Homes probably is at least figuratively "in bed with Fuller." It doesn't take much--a few bucks, a "favor," being the builder, or an employee/relative of the builder, etc--to write those rebuttals giving glowing reviews and racial slurs in the name of Fuller Homes.

But no one complains about builders for fun, no one gets paid to do it, and the attorney general and HUD do not pursue bad builders out of the goodness of their hearts. The complaints are real, documented, and if the person got frustrated enough to pull out all the stops and file with numerous gov't agencies, and submit the complaint online, then, THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM. If HUD and the attorney general go after a builer, THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM.

I also have come to the conclusion that when the BBB or other agencies call a complaint "resolved," consumers need to know that it may not be resolved at all; it may simply mean that the consumer missed an update deadline, or the agency misfiled their update, or that the agency decided it was out of their jurisdiction and therefore closed the file, calling it "resolved."

In a phone conversation with a gov't agency in NM, I was told that some of the complaints they had on file were "resolved" because it was out of their jurisdiction, but that it didn't

mean there wasn't a defect, nor did it mean that it was taken care of.

Now, when I research a company, a "resolved" complaint anywhere does not mean to me that it was taken care of.

If good companies, including builders, want to see their own reputations saved, they should make sure they have no such complaints against them, and that means doing things right, and honoring warranties, as one of the other people who rebutted the construction worker said.

Thanks for your continuing help and attention to this matter, Ed, it is greatly appreciated!

Rebuttal:

We bought from Fuller in Oklahoma, and he left the state shortly after we closed, leaving us and some others unhappy with the houses. I am displeased to say the least that the Better Business Bureau still does not report these complaints, and therefore the BBB is part of the problem, regarding consumers trying to research builders.

Our house has many thousands of dollars of repairs needed, and we wonder if it will ever be right. We have bad grading too, and our foundation is failing badly, with large stair-step cracks on the brick exterior, and many cracks inside running in long lines all over the floors. One crack in our bedroom is displaced vertically and horizontally by at least a quarter to half inch, and another crack opened up overnight to a quarter

inch wide. We hear this sound of concrete, brick, and tile moving and breaking daily. The roof has NO roofing felt under the shingles, plus other defects, and the roof leaks.

Several engineers, an inspector, and numerous repair companies have written reports/bids on this, and copies of these have been provided for Fuller and the warranty company.

The warranty company, HBW/NHIC, has sent engineers, too, who all agreed with the ones we hired. I had a phone converstaion with Mr. Fuller last week and he didn't believe the problems were this severe, despite expert reports to the contrary. I expressed our concerns that the future value of the house is severely reduced, and Mr. Fuller did he see why we should have to disclose this to future buyers! He told me that as long as it is

fixed we don't have to. I know many people DO this, but it is wrong, and a seller can be sued for this. People often fail to realize that risk, and what it will cost to defend oneself, even if you win.

Is all this is the "quality," and "cusotmer service," and "no excuses" Mr. Fuller is referring to on his website, http://www.fullerhomes.com ? All we have goten from Fuller Homes is excuses.

Rebuttal:

This person who filed the REBUTTAL above the EDitor's Comments is mistaking the author of this new complaint with mine, # 4633, but obviously they know who I am. The person who wrote this is showing the arrogance, and outright refusal of Fuller Homes to honor a legal contract, and to abide by FHA regulations of our loan concerning the warranty. Calling someone a "wack" and "white trash" shows the level of professionalism we are dealing with here.

This is the third such childish rebuttal that has been made regarding Fuller Homes. One was not printed by the site, presumabley since it was of a particularly nasty and useless nature, but I did read it via email from the site host, and kept

it for my records. These attacks on us for complaining about a very real, serious, stressful, and expensive problem are further proof of the lack of credibility and integrity of Richard Fuller Homes.

Thank you.

Rebuttal:

Mr. Contractor,

I appreciate your opinion and understand why you would be on the defensive regarding an attack on your lively hood. I on the other hand am not a contractor. I am a white collar professional making an average living trying to make ends meet. I'm sorry to hear that you and Mr. Fuller are gleaming over the fortune you acquired by not full-filling your promises.

To me its a simple black and white issue (not race related), rather its either build it correctly the first time, hence no warranty work needed, or follow-up and fix it correctly the second time. That's all any of the homeowners are asking of you. We all have lives and family too.

We don't enjoy reporting negative things about our contractors and builders. I am a good Christian person who believes that everyone deserves a second chance. So here's your second chance, step up to the plate and fix the warranty problems. If there are sub-standard practices in your industry, and you know about them, stop them. It doesn't matter how good you are, people see

only the problem, and whether its the plumber's fault or the framers fault its a problem that needs to be fixed. So again, please we are only asking that you fix the problems, nothing more. And as far as lost business, at least once a week a potential home buyer knocks on my door, and I give my honest opinion every time, irregardless of the threatening letter that

Richard Fuller's company sent to our neighborhood about talking honestly about them.

Lastly, if Fuller had such a thriving home building company then he wouldn 't be selling lots left and right to other builders at greatly discounted prices.

Rebuttal:

It seems that people these days are increasingly hard to please. People want everything perfect and once it is their still not happy. I doubt "Rip Off Report" will show this rebuttal. I am a sub-contractor for Richard Fuller Homes and various other builders. I know about this site from listening to homeowners that I do warranty work for. If you think this is effecting their business, you are sorely misguided. By my best guesstimates, Mr. Fuller probably makes 10-20 million per year off homebuilding and other investment interests. He can afford to completely ignore people who choose to take extreme measures like this. Most every builder has complanints on this site and they also have no intention of responding to these complanints. I see both sides of the story. I think Fuller is wrong in some areas as well as homeowners. I as a contractor build a quality home for them. The home is safe and structurally sound.

I will admit their warranty dept leaves a lot to be desired. I just want you people to know that the employees of that company know about this site but give it no consideration. Richard Fuller Homes is in Texas to stay. They have a multi-million dollar investment in land and development. Although you may cost them 1 or 2 customers, too a builder that builds 300-500

homes a year in Texas alone and near a 1000 a year in New Mexico you are not costing them a dime. Im also sure by my own opinion that Richard Fuller Homes will never settle with Cindy whatever in Oklahoma. She is a wack and nothing more than white trash. Thats my opinion.

EDitor's Comments to the above REBUTTAL:::::::::

Well, you certainly thought enough about the Rip-off Report to respond. You may be yourself a good contractor, but you know nothing about what kind of crap these builders and their sales people pull once your gone from the job site. You're in the construction end.

One thing you can relate to, is many of your fellow contractors have unskilled workers resulting in poor workmanship. Many are on drugs. Definitely a nationwide problem.

Contractors are closing up walls that are sopping wet with no regard as to the future devastation this will cause the residents. Were talking mold, resulting in major health problems.

The rich and so wealthy Fuller you brag about. How do you think he got all his riches? Screwing the consumer. Fuller could do the right thing by correcting all these problems and he would still be a very rich man, and not only with money. Several former employees close to him describe him as a p***k. Their word. Not mine.

White trash? You're an idiot. A wack? If you were ripped of for over $100,000 you would be a little wacky too!

Mr.Contractor, you should also stick around for the false promises made at the signing of the papers. Then come back around 6 or 12 months later and talk to all the home owners who have no warrantee work done. Then view the major defects from the poor workmanship. Then view their useless home warrantee with all the fine print, leaving the home owner with their nightmare home.

Buying a home is the American Dream which has turned in to the American nightmare, which has become the biggest Rip-off by business to consumers. (along with Auto Dealers)

Fuller Homes will pay, eventually, one way or another. Ripped off home owners need to band together and target a Fuller Development in progress, distributing Rip-off Reports to perspective buyers, non stop, every day in continual shifts till the b*****d satisfies every home buyer that was Ripped off!

Homeowners who are interested for the right way to do so, let me know. I will show you the right way to get action.

No lawyers. No courts.
