My Digital SLR Camera that I have had for a few years began making noise. Not wanting to be with out camera, I went seeking a new camera. Ritz had the camera i was interested and after chatting with a salesperson and negotiating a better price dediced to order the camera with the understanding that it would be shipped immediately.
Late the next day while at work I happened to check my personal e-mail and there was an e-mail from Ritz telling me that I had to call them to verify my percuase before it would be shipped. I called and explained that I was told the camera would be shipped the next day, and now there was a two day delay in shipping. I requested overnight shipping--which they refused to provide.
About 3 days later the extra battery I ordered showed up in one package and the memory card showed up in a second package..but no camera.
The next day i had a Fed EX slip advising me that they had a pacage for me, but could not leave the package because it had to be signed for. Ritz never told me that someone would have to sign for the package. Had they, I would have had it shipped to my work.
I went to Fed Ex to get the camera only to be told that it was on the delivery truck as they were making another attempt to deliver the goods. I asked Fed Ex if they could deliver to my office (since they drop packages there every day) and they told me the shipper (that be Ritz) would not allow that. Fed Ex did agree to hold the package.
So, the next day I had to make yet another trip to FED Ex to get the Camera.
(I shoudl point out that I have purchased 2 other cameras from other internet retailers and the cameras were delivered timely and I did not have to make 2 trips to Fed EX)
Through this process I sent numerous e-mails to Ritz Customer service that were never responded to. They really do not seem to give a d**n about their customer. This is the third and last time time that I have had problems trying to purchase from Ritz. First time, was purchase of a camera that came with a gift card. When I went to use the gift card Ritz had reduced its value to next to nothing. Of course, I was not told that the gift card would decline in value.
Second time was purchase of a flash by my girlfriend as a gift. I reeived flast model A and insturction book for Flash model B. It was a challenge to get the correct book.
And now, a product that I shoudl have received in a couple of days took 8 due to Ritz not being honest and up front. Had I been told that some one would be contacting me to verify the order, we could have taken care of that the same day, and had I been told that someone needed to be home to sign for the Camera, i would have had it delivered to my office.
I have received much better service from a couple of on line retailers. Unfortunately, they did not carry the camera I was looking for--but I bet there are on line retailers that do.
