When I was his talent a few years ago, I did my research, and found a talent agency by the name of Exposure Talent & Model Agency in Kansas City. Here is their website: http://www.exposureinc.com/default.htm So I highly doubt Rod is this owner, and I highly doubt you can have the same name as another agency in another state!
*Note* When I was his talent, sometimes HE would be the photographer to take my "headshots". He had another photographer, who was NOT professional at all. He was a newbie photographer at the time, building up his portfolio. The pictures I got returned back to me were all amatuer looking!! And the shadier part? I was told by my cousin, my dad, and my cousin's roommate that they all saw a billboard with a girl who looked exactly like me, one promoting a casino, another promoting an Escort service! Both of which I never modeled for, never even sold my pics to. So I have a feeling that Rod photoshopped some of the pics they took, and sold them to these companies. Since I did not see the billboards myself, I cannot be sure if this is true, but it does seem fishy. So I would be indeed careful with who you sign up with.
Another thing.... For Newbie Actors:
Here is the difference between a "Talent Agent" and "Talent Manager". Don't donfuse the two. This was an article I found online that is great use:
Acting can be a confusing profession to those just starting out. There are so many unwritten rules, not to mention the scams that ruin the dreams of many talented actors. However, going into an acting career armed with knowledge will help minimize the confusion and maximize the success.
Many beginning actors mistakenly think that talent agent and talent manager are two names for the same job. Actually, they are very different, but in a similar way. The best way to explain the differences is to tackle the job responsibilities separately, giving actors a good idea of those differences.
A talent agent works for a talent agency where they use their contacts to arrange auditions for the actors represented by the agency. An actor should never pay a talent agent up front for auditions or representation. A legitimate talent agent should receive a ten to fifteen percent commission only from the work they find the actor. A talent agent should never receive any percentage above fifteen percent.
Actors need a talent agent to survive. A talent agent is able to provide an actor with auditions they would not otherwise know about. Without the appropriate industry auditions, an actor's career will go nowhere.
When securing a talent agent, actors should seek talent agencies franchised with The Screen Actors Guild (SAG). This means the agency and its agents have signed a contract agreeing to follow the rules regulated by the actors union.
A talent manager's focus is more on managing an actor's career than with arranging auditions. Talent managers keep in close touch with talent agents to ensure a shared vision for the actor, but a manager stays mostly on the management end of the actor's career. Sometimes a talent manager may set up an audition for an actor, but that is not their focus. A talent manager will not guarantee auditions for an actor. Securing auditions is a talent agent's job.
A talent manager handles public relations, business matters, and helps to make a plan and keep the actor on a path toward success. Actors usually don't have a talent manager unless they have already seen some success and want to make a big jump in their career. Most actors cannot juggle the acting demands, interviews, and appearances that come with a prominent career. That is where a talent manager comes in.
Just as with talent agents, an actor should never pay a talent manager up front or for representation. Talent managers take a higher percentage of an actor's earnings than a talent agent does. Typically, a talent manager receives a fifteen to twenty percent commission.
The differences between a talent agent and a talent manager vary, but their responsibilities are geared toward the same goal advancing an actor's career and getting the actor more acting jobs so the actors makes more money. The bottom line is that when an actor succeeds and gets paid, everybody gets paid. Both talent agents and talent managers will work hard to make that happen.

Also, you told your clients, "Ignore the Kansas City agency website." If you met them and openly welcomed them, you would not encourage all of your clients to ignore the agency and pay attention to your business. That's contradicting yourself.
Furthermore, you put a sh*tload of your clients head shots all over your home-based office. That just shows you are bragging about how many clients you have. Most agents and managers will not gloat about how many clients they have, nor will they decorate their office with their clients head shots! Also, there are enough people in this Country, why bring more? Pretty soon, this Country is going to be as packed as China.
And the pictures that were received back to me, that were taken by your so called "professional photographer" and some that were taken by you yourself, were not, "the best and most appropriate images representing spots available for audition." They were amateur pictures, and even when your photographer photo-edited them, they were shit. So many PROFESSIONAL photographers that I have met, have commented negatively about the quality of the pictures you gave back to me. So no, you do NOT help with head shots at all! Stop your bullshit. And if you want to act as an Agent, then get licensed and be one! If you're as successful as you claim to be, then buy your licensing. It's not THAT much money! If you have clients that are making 50,000 and more, then you can afford 5,000-10,000 on Talent Agency Licensing! After all, you did say managers make 20%. So if you're a Manager, you should be making 20%.

Exposure Models & Talent has been open for approximately 16 years and has NEVER been filed against by the Better Business Bureau! All existing talent and perspective talent who have been to the main office in Culver City have seen and can contest to Exposure's business license displayed on the wall in plain sight as per State Law. - Just like any other place of business in this fine State of California. Exposure does not proclaim themselves as an S.A.G.-Sig. Agency, nor has that interfered with Exposure's ability to book(get jobs) any talent to any job ranging from Print to high end Film or TV.
Exposure also has at all times City and State, Federal Tax Certificate, individual City (Culver City) license and registration and a handful of VISA's from the Department of Homeland Security & I.N.S.( the highest Law in the land)!
For the past 12+ years Exposure has been building and developing a relationship with the U.S. Department of Labor Enforcement, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service bringing over 50 legal immigrants to the United States to be able to work here(legally) and procure a Social Security number and to become full U.S. citizens without having to marry an American.
All at no cost to them or hidden fees from Exposure.
Exposure would really appreciate it if Anon would proclaim their grievances against us plainly and with their full legal name so that our evil lawyers can bring up the appropriate lawsuits for your baseless slander!!
OKAY, So- in rebuttal paragraph #1 Exposure has stated that it has several legal documents/ affidavids /licenses for the view of any existing or prospective talent or appropriate City/State/Federal Bearaus. Exposure is an Agency proclaimed by said Agency's and operates more of a management company based on it's talent and their development i.e. resume development, individual development, photography and Hollywood Industry electronic site development.
Rebuttal for paragraph #2 as for an office in Kansas City called Exposure. We are aware that a company in Kansas City is using the Exposure name. We have been open for at least 8 years longer than them and have met with the owners at an Model fair in Florida. And see no danger or competition from anyone whom might proclaim themselfs as a Industery professional in any place in the U.S. except for L.A.(Hollywood) or New York. More power to them in Kansas City - ha, ha.
Rebuttal for paragraph #3 for the record Exposure obtains Talent from Professional referrals and/or by scouting talent from sport functions, shows, and the public. Exposure operates in the beginning of any relationship from TRUST, signing no talent to a contract until Exposure can guarantee no less than 50K($50,000.00) per year.
Exposure wants and expects all talent to be happy and loyal and does not want any talent to bring Bad energy or vibes to any writer, director, producer, and casting director, as we do not want any bad energies to represent us in the professional industry. Exposure develops any and all talent at NO COST to them, by helping them format their resumes and bios correctly. And provided needed photography to them by company president and staff also at no cost as well as giving talent copies of all photgraphy taken. Exposure informs and shows by example different types of pictures needed in order to secure good auditions and informs talent that they are responsible for obtaining pictures of themselvs as well as the cost of printing headshots and/or modelig cards as well as cost they may incur in joining various Hollywood professional websites or even the cost of gas driving to auditions.
Exposure understands the confusion and what might be exuberant costs in obtaining professional photographers and provides free photography taken by Co. President and/or by some of the staff or photographer we represent.
We believe that if we are responsible for talent's photography, that we will be able to get the best and most appropriate images representing spots available for audition.
Side note: Exposure does represent a few people that have worked in the ADULT arena, but DOES NOT promote Adult work & does not send talent to ADULT- jobs(porn)!!
Some people working look like many talent that different agencies have, but that does not mean that it is them on TV or in a print job! If a talent we have, see them selves in a project running some where, thay should contact us at the office as soon as possible! As we will imedeintly fallow up with ad agency or our lawyers.
Once 3 years ago, a client of ours did a comercial & print job for one of the airlines and where paid appropriatly....But 18 monthes later, the ad agency put it in Billboards in some states next to air ports & we became aware of it and had ad agency responsible pay the oppropriate sums in compisation.
For the sake of Anon, maybe your cousin & roommate & dad, are telling you that you look like an Porn-star!!
Rebuttal for paragraph #4 The difference between a S.A.G. Sig. Agent and a manager is as follows: The Agent can only take 10% and is limited to 150 square miles from the location of their office(s). The management company can take 20% and more in some States and countries if licensed properly. Either form of representation (properly licensed) can book(obtain) work in any arena of entertainment without limitation.
Rebuttal for paragraph #5 You're right starting a career in the entertainment business acting or modeling can be confusing therefore you should be aware of anyone trying to collect monies or create fees for you to pay, as well as just pulling out some type of contract for you to sign without proper view and/or consultation.
Closing note for Anon and any concerning parties: A talent Agent and Management company are very similar and basically do the same thing with the management company being able to acquire a higher percentage and wider area of representation.
Do not confuse the abilities of a management company and a personal manager or press agent.
