I purchased a 6 chair dining set, upon delivery 3 chairs were wobbly, I sent them back by driver, (this company does not give you a telephone # or address on their paper work), I had to go over to see person in charge, he was abusive, cursed us out and said he could bar all his stores from selling to us, I'm a christian and a black woman, I started to call the police myself, this man's actions was way out of line, we never said a mean word, I was so upset, I sent the set back and I am working to let everybody know about the roomstore and their personnel.

What really happened

Kenyetta's boyfriend called me at about 10 a.m. on
Saturday morning 07/24/04. I can't remember his
name. He spent about 30 minutes trying to get me
to give a discount on the merchandise that his
girlfriend had purchased because we keyed a
delivery date incorrectly by one day. The customer
wanted delivery on 07/24 but one of my clerical
workers set delivery for 07/25 by mistake. It was
an honest mistake. We asked if we could deliver
on Sunday 07/25. The boyfriend told me that he
couldn't take delivery on Sunday because it was
the Sabbath. I asked if they were having any kind
of gathering that evening. He said no. I offered
to deliver my floor samples to him. In my own
personal vehicle that day. He said no. I offered
to bring the chairs on tuesday 07/27 at the
customer's convenience. Finally he said that he
would get back to me. He repeatedly asked for
money. I didn't offer any money because the
boyfriend didn't make the purchase. Any offer of
compensation by me could have been veto'd by our
actual customer Kenyetta. The boyfriend repeatedly
asked for my supervisor's name. I refused to give it to him. He hadn't bought anything from us.He had a very "I am superior to you attitude". I
apoligized several times for our mistake. The
boyfriend was also very rude to the salesperson
that sold the merchandise to Kenyetta. The
salesperson offered to bring the merchandise to the customer in his own vehicle, also. at their
convenience.

Later that day Kenyetta and the boyfriend came into my store. They didn't announce themselves they just strode right into my office. Didn't even knock. We discussed the problem for a while. I told Kenyetta what I could and couldn't do. I asked her what amount of money would make her happy. She asked for $220.00 off The sale was for around $1000.00. I told her that we could offer $100.00. She agreed. I started on the paperwork. But the boyfriend just could not keep out of it. He again demanded my supervisor's name. I gave him the name of our customer relations manager. He made some kind of rude comment. And finally I had had enough of him.

I did get angry and I asked that he never come
in to my store again. There is no way to please
him and we don't need customer's like him. Kenyetta was pretty reasonable and was trying to
be fair and work with us in my opinion.

No profanity was used by myself or the
customer. That is a lie. The boyfriend did call
me a big chicken which I still find amusing. I
have been doing this a long time and the customer
is not always right. When Kenyetta left she told me that she would call me later to let me know
what she wanted to do. She called on Monday 07/26
and asked me to cancel her order. I did.

I am a christian, too. And I don't
appreciate being slandered and lied about in
this forum. I did get angry. And I believe that
my anger was rightous. I apologized for my company's mistake. Several times! I encounter
persons like these from time to time. It isn't
much fun. But to be honest with everyone reading
this; most of our customers are good folks who
can understand that mistakes happen. There are
some people you just cannot please.
