Rooter-Man Paul Rueda Swindled Me, Internet

Paul Rueda and company were hired to provide remodeling services for my home.  Initially, he and one of his employees came to my home for the initial estimate.  I was snowballed right from the start.  He claimed to understand all of my wants and desires.  He was originally from NJ, as am I, and we ran in the same circles. He used this information to form a companionship with myself and my fiancee. He claimed to have done for work for people in NJ, and knows the kind of standards we are used too. 

He claimed the entire remodeling job would take 6-10 days (02/2012)  and the job is still not complete (10/2012).  He had his employees (sub-contractors) at my home and the work they did was well below standards.  He had to remove his contractors from my job.  After they left, I found out they had stolen items from my home and prescription medications.  Paul rarely came to my home to supervise the work being completed.  After his men were taken off the job, Paul sat with my fiancee and myself to discuss how the repairs were to be completed on the shoddy work already done. 

He acknowledged the poor quality of work and said everything would be repaired.  He sat at my kitchen table and cried and lied to our faces.  He says he is a Free Mason and his "Brothers" would be very disappointed if he didn't stand behind his work and "make things right."  If he is a representative of the Masons, I would probably avoid their brotherhood and anyone associated with them.  He claims to have been injured and unable to work, so we allowed him 1-2 months to get back on his feet, as the work he needed to complete on my home would be with his monies. 

That was 4 months ago.  The tiles in my bathroom are popping off, there are cracks in the new walls he put up, my carpeting is ripping up, the walls are not painted evenly, you can see sanding lines, he never finished painting my house, they used the wrong paint on the walls, the plumbing work leaks, I have NO water pressure in my new bathroom, he purchased and installed the wrong bathroom fixtures, my closet system fell off the wall 1 day after HE personally installed it, he had his children doing plumbing work in my house, electrical work was done by the kids he had working for him, he is the only one licensed, the list goes on and on. 

Food and garbage was left all over my house.  Construction debris was left outside my home for over 4 months.  The man that did the electrical work cut holes in the outside of my house, allowing rodents to enter my attic.  My heat in the master bath cannot be utilized unless the heat is on in the master bedroom.  He was paid a large sum of money and when we refused to pay him anymore money for the work he had completed, that was when the work stopped.  Today I received a call from one of his employees saying Paul is no longer handling any construction work. 

He has handed it off to one of his sub-contractors.  Unfortunately, my contract is with Paul Rueda and Rooter-Man.  I also wonder where he got his references from?  I called them and received positive feedback.  FYI he also claims to be on the Carbon County Builders Association Board.  If I were them, I would reconsider.  People come to my home and are shocked at the quality of workmanship.  Please, stay away from Paul Reuda as a contractor.  He blames EVERYONE but himself for the mistakes and quality of work completed in my home.
