Her best avenue now is to refinance the vehicle with a local credit union as soon as she can. She will need to keep making her payments on time to demonstrate that she is a good risk.
Make sure she didn't buy any of the junk that is frequently put on new vehicles (dealership gap insurance and very expensive extended warranties). She can drop those items now and get a credit against her principal balance. Refer to the contract to find out the proper way to do that. She can get gap from her regular insurance company for less than what the dealer added to the price. As to the extended warranty, it generally is a rip off when you purchase it at the dealership.
Good luck. She can at least mitigate her damages and learn a valuable lesson. The quicker she refinances out of the loan the better off she will be financially.
