The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Becky Cooper during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases towards Routhmeir Sterling.

Routhmeir Sterling is a credit agency or a collection agency that purchases debt with the intent of working with the individual to help correct their credit, credit history, credit rating, and get them back on track. Becky Cooper went on to state the following about her company, "we believe bad things happen to good people...to get them back on track is the vision for Routhmier Sterling."

In order to obtain leads Routhmeir Sterling works with different brokers that sell out of state and in state past due debt. Ms. Cooper went on to explain their sales and services process, "if we buy it direct from the seller, and we’re the first agency to work it it’s normally pretty easy to locate that individual. If it’s come from two or three different agencies it may have aged it may be four or five years old." If this is the case they will have to do research through social media and specific software to find the debtors and advise on the best way to handle their debt.



CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION – ROUTHMEIR STERLING

During the onsite interview Ms. Cooper was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Ms. Cooper expressed that 50% to 60% of the individuals they work with complaint due to the nature of their call or how they got their information. Ms. Cooper further explained that in order to successfully reach the parties in debt they will sometimes need to use software such as Lexis Nexis and Experian in addition to reaching out to references on their initial loan. In order to remedy this Routhmeir Sterling is very active in expressing to the debtors that their goal is to help them get out of debt in any way that they can.

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Ms. Cooper stated the following, "that individual client...he was upset because we made contact with some family members who gave him messages that we had called, he didn't think that was proper." Ms. Copper went on to state, "we do have the legal right to do that. We're trying to locate them, we use the same software that every other agency uses and that will give you the relatives, the references, their neighbors, whatever the case may be." In order to assure future and current clientele Routhmeir Sterling has been in business for over 12 years, they are affiliated with the BBB, as well as the Debt Buyers Association.

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to make things right with the consumer per the request of Ripoff Report, Ms. Cooper stated, "we have weekly meetings here with the staff to go over all of FDCPA compliance rules so that our collectors are in compliance. We also have meetings and one on one talks with the staff on how to communicate with a debtor."

Routhmeir Sterling Inc has violated the FDCPA and has harassed me and my family for debt that I have not acknowledged. I have asked them to stop contacting me and their are refusing to honor my request. They have also failed to recite the mini miranda. Be aware, Routhmeir Sterling Inc is a scam collection agency. They have been reported to the Iowa Attorney General office and the FTC. The rep who kept calling was Jeremy Martinez. The Legal Operations Manager is Becky Cooper.
