I started looking for a bank account at the beginning of the year and I came acroos Rush Card. It is a prepaid "checking" account with "minimal" fees. I signed up fpr the card and waited for my welcome kit to come in the mail. It never came. After a couple months I called and they told me they would reissue me another one. They failed to mention that I would have to pay $19.95 for this card. Even though I never received the first card from them, they still charged me for the second one.

I used my card frequently over the past 6 months thinking it was ok because this card was supposed to be "better for you than carryinh cash..Well after these six months I went online to check my transaction history and to my surprise I had been charged a total of EXACTLY $101.

Now how is charging that much money to use my own money "better" than carrying the cash in my pocket? THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM

Not a Ripoff

AUTHOR: Staci - (USA)

I've had my RushCard since they opened up, and couldn't be more happy with it. I pay 1.00 transaction (only up to 10.00 a month), which makes me think about my purchases a lot more than I would normally. I can manage my money online with their online budgeting tools, pay my bills, and NEVER worry about problems with overdrafts. The $19.95 up front cost is to activate the card; not a big deal since you pay this only one time...ever. Carrying cash is a great way to spend more money than you should, because you're not counting and watching how much you spend. This is the best "prepaid" debit card out there!

Read The Paperwork...

1. You failed to mention how much you 'loaded' onto the card.
2. This is not a credit card. It is a prepaid debit card, there is a $1 fee per purchase that is not to exceed $10/fiscal month, pending the day you activated YOUR card.
3. If you had read the paperwork, you would have known that there is an activation fee. This is stated on the website and the paperwork that comes with the card. This fee is only charged once per card and is applied only when you 'load' the card. I still have a Rush card that has not been activated, no fee applied yet. Example; $100 loaded for the first time will have the $19.95 deducted from the initial 'load', so your new balance would be $80.05. Keep into account that you first ten purchases will have the $1 fee applied, including whatever fees the POS (point of sale, basically the store) charges.
