After nearly 12 years of engaging SAFE Security for the monitoring of my home security, I called to cancel the service as I am moving. At this time they inform me that I owe over 1 year of service fees (several hundred dollars) because I am cancelling my contract early.
Turns out that 2 years ago when I switched their service from a land-line monitoring system to a wireless monitoring system (because I switched from a land-line phone to VOIP phone) they stuck me with a brand new 3-yr contract. This despite my paying in full and upfront for the wireless equipment and the installation.
The funny thing is that to get the system switched to wireless took over a week of calling their customer service number, where no one ever responds and if someone does answer, they will ask for your telephone number to call you back with more details. They never do.
This Company is dishonest and dishonorable. They seem to believe the only way they can keep their business is through customer entrapment in their one-sided and cryptic contracts. Their Customer Representatives are rude and will remind you that you should have thought better before signing the contract with them. In hindsight I should have minded their advice and read all the fine print on the installation contract.
Better yet, please stay away from these unscrupulous and dishonest predators. They are focused on only one thing, getting a hold of your wallet, nothing else matters to them.
No matter how long you do business with them, they will entrap you with the fine print. Their contract renews automatically unless you call them. They never answer the phone. Great method for perpetual renewal. This is Company should be fined and put out of business.
