Bought a 17" LCD Samsung Monitor from Office Max on 09/08/05. Price was $329.99 less three rebates Promotion #D5-258-0904A $30.00, #D5-281-0904A $20.00 and #D5-237-0807E for $30.00. Did not receive #D5-281-0904A. Called the rebate line and was told there was no record of that rebate#, so they couldn't help me. I should of bought the monitor elsewhere. This was purchased from one of their Sunday newspaper fliers, my net was supposed to be $249.99 after rebates. What a rip.
I will be taking all my business to Staples from now on. Too much hassle doing rebates the old fashioned way at Office Max. Staples has a much easier/better online rebate filing & tracking system.
I have all three paper copies of my Office Max rebate forms, funny that this one was not on file, it came out of their check out register at the time of purchase. I buy most of my computer equipment when on sale & rebates are offered and usually stock a few extra parts. I do upgrades & repairs on many systems in the area.
No more business for me at Office Max. I spent $587 at their store on this day, but they've lost my business over a $20.00 rebate. Other stores offer the same rebates with less hassle.

Once again a completely uninformed consumer blames the retail outlet for a manufacturer not honoring a mail-in rebate. This is the exact reason Office Max has completely done away with mail-in rebates. Having to deal with consumers blaming the store, instead of the company who ACTUALLY owes the money was simply too much. Read what she wrote - SAMSUNG refuses to pay her and she says she will no longer shop at Office Max....???? That makes no sense. She should be refusing to purchase SAMSUNG products... yet she doesn't make the connection.

I was contacted by Samsung via voice and they took care of it. I was surprised that they would make the effort and VERY pleased by it. I did receive the rebate, so thought I would update to let others know that Samsung went the extra mile to correct my situation. Thanks Samsung!

Reading the offer number that you've provided (D5-281-0904A, the one you are stating the rebate center said they had no record of), that offer is an Ad On offer because it ends with an "A". Those offers will ALWAYS accept copies of the UPC/SN barcode. Now, did you make photocopies of your information (barcode label, receipt, and form) before you mailed it in? Because if you have photocopies, you can mail them in to the resubmit department for the rebate center and they can process your other rebate. If you did not make copies before you mailed it in, then that would be the only reason for the rebate center saying they could not honor the rebate.
So if you do have copies, call the rebate center back for the resubmit address. If not, then remember for next time: PLEASE, ALWAYS MAKE COPIES.
