I wanted to let everyone who works for SC Kiosks Inc. aware of the clause that exists in the contract between SC Kiosks Inc. (subsidiary of RadioShack) and Sam's Club stating that Sam's Club's allowed to buyout roughly 10-15% of the cellular kiosks (SC Kiosks Inc.) that exist in Sam's Clubs nationwide each year. A few large markets were already bought out at the beginning of the merger from Wireless Retail Inc. to SC Kiosks Inc. back on October 1, 2004.
These buyouts occur on an annual basis and next month will mark the 1 year anniversary of SC Kiosks Inc. and with that will enevitably come another takeover of several SC Kiosks Inc. locations nationwide. One of Florida's first buyouts occured in the Jacksonville Florida area in which a LOT of people lost their jobs or were reassigned to other markets if they chose to take that route. In the past few weeks I have spoke with numerous managers of the surrounding Orlando Sam's Clubs and they have all stated that it was true that within the next couple of months that SC Kiosks Inc. would be taken over Sam's Club in it's entirety.

Every SC Kiosks Inc. location is getting a makeover this month with a brand new kiosk, employee uniforms, and a whole new point of sale system. The new kiosks look so great and so in unison with the ambiance of Sam's Club not because it was something that RadioShack was pushing for but more because of what Sam's Club wanted. The Sam's Club chain mandated that all SC Kioks Inc. locations throughout the nationwide gut their old kiosks and apply a kiosk that was "Sam's Club" fitted. This was the first step in getting ready for the buyout(s). Also, take a look at the nice new computers and those of the newer Sam's Clubs because they are not only the same brand (different model) but also incorporate a lot of the same functions of those used by Sam's Club. So what does all this mean for employees of SC Kiosks Inc....
Employees will have the offer of keeping their jobs but at a loss of pay from what they are currently making. Each employee will be paid the same hourly wage as one starting at Sam's Club ($8/Hr) but there will be NO COMMISSIONS!!! Thus, the cellular division will no longer payout commissions on cellular sales. This comes as no shock, however, since the jewelry section in every Sam's Club used to be independently opperated and commissioned paid until Sam's Club monopolized that area of sales, too.
Your District Manager and Regional Director may tell you otherwise but everything that I have just wrote is accurate and 110% truthful! If you do not believe me you can ask any of the managers in your local Sam's Club and I guarantee you that at least one of them (more then likely the General Manager of the store) will be able to verify this and let you in on what is going on. I was a DM with SC Kiosks Inc. but I got out early and took a secure job here in the Orlando, Florida area; a job that doesn't envolve worry of whether or not I will have a job the next year. Take this information seriously and research it if you think it is needed but in the end you will see that the writing's on the wall.
Some Managers working for SC Kiosks Inc. might tell you that your job will be secured with new within-a-mall locations that RadioShack's working on as we speak but DO NOT believe them as this is nothing but lies, too, as a way to keep you on board until the very, very end. If a District begins to fall before the end is near not only will that manager be responsible for the staffing issues but he/she might not be eligible for their severance pay. Do your research NOW, NOW, NOW!!!
