I had a Sears Mastercard by Citi Card or Citibank I paid regularly on without a bad history. Then I asked them to reverse charges for a merchant complaint...Arizona Computer Outlet (returned in 3 days and they wouldn't honor the 3 day return policy) and the dispute was denied and left the charges. Being P/T resident in 2 states...I had to change my address for the "assistance" if you are disatisfied with a merchant and a product.

After that incident...no bills were sent from May to September! But I did receive the "new terms" agreement at the proper address...no phone call...and they had my permanent address where mail was forwarded! Post lady says they do that when they find out about a different address...just to get you!

Finally they call in Oct and say I owe $555 NOW TO REVERSE THESE CHARGES...I EXPLAINED NOT HAVING A BILL AND FIGURED IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF BY SOMEONE WHO NOTICED THE LACK OF ACTION OF SEARS AND CITI BANK ON THE FUNDS REGARDING THE COMPUTER.

IN GOOD FAITH I SENT 1/2 $278 AND NOW THE HAVE ME OWING PAST DUE $555 (same)due Nov.31 and due Dec.1 $879, REDUCED MY CREDIT FROM $8800 TO CURRENT BALANCE...CREATING OVER LIMIT FEES WITH LATE FEES AND CANCELLED MY PRIVILEDGES ON 3 SEPERATE CARDS AS WELL AS RAISING THE INTEREST ON THE BILL DUE TO 28%

GET THAT! NEVER GIVE ANY BANK ANY MONEY IN GOOD FAITH TO SAVE A CREDIT REPORT...THAT IS THE FIRST THING THEY GO AFTER...

I THINK CONSUMERS ARE VICTIMS OF A CREDIT REPORT AND IF ONE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT IT...THEY HAVE NOTHING TO HOLD OVER YOUR HEAD! WHO STARTED A CREDIT REPORT ANYWAY...

It is our report...we cannot see...unless...and only they can report to it...and it takes forever to correct their lies...if it can be done? How do we change the system of theirs?

Well Sears CITIBANK does subscribe to the NCA which is the national change of address. You have to contact them when you need your address changed or the NCA updates it for you. That is YOUR FAULT. Secondly Sears is not at fault over the dispute. We have to recieve money from the merchant that the charge was done through. The merchant has to be willing to give that money back. We can't magically make money appear to give back to you. The company it's disputed with has to agree to it. Secondly if you were really concerned customer you would have followed up on the dispute not just expected a credit for it.
