SMC Specialty Merchandise Corp. Did Not Offer Help With Start Up Simi Valley California

I got into SMC Specialty Merchandise Corporation to make extra money with hope to get a full time permanent business going. It didn't work for me. SMC doesn't tell you anything about having to advertise to be successfull.

SMC didn't disclose any of the specific business tools that you need to get up and running accept giving them $250.00 up front to get into their program. I guess it works for some but not all.

I tried like crazy to make it work for me but no matter what I did, I couldn't make it work. One time I purchased 100 World Of Products catalogs. I bought what I thought was a good mailing list for $50.00.

I sent out all of the catalogs and didn't receive even one order. Not even one. Rip Off. They try to build you up with words but thats it. Advertising is expensive to say the least. Who can afford it. You need news paper ad's in many news papers. You need magazine ad's which are very expensive.

Without advertising, customers will not know who you are or what you have for sale. If you work flee markets and the like, you can probobly make it work up to a point. But you have to travel all over the place and thats expensive.

Flee markets and the like require two people at the very least. Doing this on your own isn't a good idea. I know, I tried it that way. SMC doesn't say a word about this in any detail in their literature and they should.

I spent over $750.00 on catalogs and only had five orders. It never paid off. If you are reading this report to find out info on SMC, please be very careful when thinking about SMC or any other business venture like this.

You don't need to stock any merchandise unless you travel to flee markets, swap meets or the like. I needed extra money desparately and never got it. Companies like SMC usually require up front money.

$250.00 is allot these days. I am no longer trying to sell anything from SMC. With SMC you also have to pay a yearly membership fee if you don't sell a certain amount in dollar value. I have had better results with the internet.

SMC also has internet sites for sale. Rip Off. They want a ton of money for them. You can do the same thing with your own internet site. Even if you get an SMC web site, you still need to advertise. There is no way around it.

Based on what I saw in SMC's advertising on late night TV, only a very few have actually made any decent money with SMC. I am amazed that SMC has been in business for so many years.
