I drove to DFW from Wichita, KS about a 6 hr drive. Along the way encounter a car accident causing a almost 90 min delay. Needless to say we got to the airport at 3:30 for a 4:10 flight departure. This was the first time I have flown Spirit Airlines. We were told at the counter that we did not print off our broading passes, didn't know that I needed to, the instructions stated to check in because we had a bag to check which I prepaid for, I was inforned that we were 12 min to late and would be allowed to board the plane. I was told to call customer service, given an 800 number and told to leave the counter area as we were not customers. I was told by several of the employees our being late was not there problem and we would not be flying with them. Customer Service was absolutely no help, the guy kept telling me I missed the flight when the plane was still at the gate. When I asked if they had any other flights that would be going to Florida I was told no And I would have to pay for them anyway as no money would be refunded because I was late and it was my problem not theirs. I was told my seats were already booked. I had a cruise sailing on sat and was told to bad maybe you can drive. The service representative told me I needed to learn how to fly and follow the rules not their fault I didnt and I there were not required to help me in any way. A represenative from US Airways heard my one sided conversation and tried to help since the Spirit people would not. He found me tickets on American for almost all of my spending money to get us to Florida. I specially asked If I was going to have trouble getting home, I was told by 2 Spirit repersentatives to be at the airport at least 2 hrs early and to print the broading passes at least 4 hrs before flight time. Okay on our return 9 days later I tried to print the broading passes, 2 would print not the third. I called Spirit to inquire why and was told that because I did not use the first flight the return flight was cancelled. I forfeited the tickets. She did not know why some of the broading passes were printed, none were to be printed. She states she had no seats to purchase and again it was not there problem, I did not follow through with the contract. So again I was stranded. Spirit again stated NO amt of money would be refunded not even the bag charge as they were out the money, they filled the seats what money are they out. I m going to make it my life's work to let people now how SPIRIT AIRLINE IS A NO SERVIVCE, GREEDY AIRLINE. THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE ARE RUDE AND EVEN STATED THEY DIDNT CARE WHAT YOUR PROBLEM MAYBE. I could have flown out of Wichita first class and had 1000 spending money for what this fiasco of airline caused. Please let the word out that this is not the airline to fly, they need to go out of business. I was traveling with 2 kids. I have flown extensively for over 40 yrs and have never been treated like this by an airline.
