STAMPS.COM will ask for you info as a security verification, to insure that no one steals stamps ! at least that what they claim. Next thing you know your being charged $15.95. drafted out of your checking account with out authorization from anyone. NO refunds! Very rude on the phone once you actually talk with a live person. Most time you get "exper high call volume blah, blah" try this # or call this # same old run around. BUT AS A COUTERSEY THEY WILL PRO-RATE THE DAYS OF THE CANCELATION MONTH FOR SERVICE YOU HAVE NEVER USED AT ALL FOR ANYTHING. I signed up to help ck shipping rates fro eBay sells.

Stamps.com Response

AUTHOR: StampsComCorp - (United States of America)

Hi TEXASBAGMAN,

Stamps.com appreciates your feedback, and apologizes for any misunderstanding.  We offer a four week no-risk trial so that you may use our online postage service and determine if the service fits your mailing and shipping needs.  Please note that we do not offer a "free trial" -- our trial is labeled as "no risk trial."

If you do not like the Stamps.com service, you may cancel at any time during the four week trial period and you will not be charged any subscription fee for using the service.

However if you do not cancel the Stamps.com service and go past your four week trial period, you will be charged $15.99 for using the service during that first "trial" month.   After you pass the four week trial period and become a regular customer, you will be charged $15.99 each month moving forward.  You may cancel at any time -- there is no long term agreement.

During the registration process for Stamps.com and before a customer's account has been created, (on the page called Postage Account Credit Card Authentication) all prospective customers will see the following text:

Why do you need my credit card information?
Your credit card is required by the USPS to set up your USPS postage account.  Your credit card will not be charged unless you buy additional postage or Stamps.com products, or if you continue past the NO-RISK 4-week trial period.

We provide and disclose terms that we do expect all potential customers to read, review, and agree to before they create their accounts.  Accounts cannot be created without customers indicating that they have read the terms by clicking on the I Agree box.

We apologize for any misunderstanding and would be happy to further review your account. Could you e-mail us your full name and phone number to social@stamps.com?

Thanks!
Divya

MY POINT IS.

AUTHOR: TEXASBAGMAN - (USA)

I never asked STAMPS.COM for anything free or otherwise! Honestly no i dont read all the fine print all the time. So i made a mistake, Why is it so hard to cancel. I have never had any trouble in my short 40 years of going down to the post office and dealing face to face with postal employees. So why not get ride of the post offices! What % of that workforce are veterans? Some things are just better left alone. One last thing if you google stamps.com 3 or 4 rows from the top is RIPPOFF REPORT. I am all alone here NOT!

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Here's the link on their home page, it says "Offer Details"...

AUTHOR: Ken - (USA)

$25 Postage OfferAs a new Stamps.com customer you will receive $5 in free postage that you can use during your trial period.  After you complete your trial period, you are eligible for an additional $20 in postage. We will give you two $10 postage coupons. You can redeem one coupon per month once you complete your trial. If you stay with Stamps.com past the trial period, you will be charged $15.99 a month for the Stamps.com service, you can cancel your services at any time.

Guess you somehow missed this, right?

Don't see any Ripoff here.

No, I don't work for Stamps.com, never have.
