I tried stamps.com for my ebay shipping and it was the worst online experience ever. Firstly, they suggested that I install their postage software.. When I did that, the stamps.com software loaded my computer with malware and crashed it. Hours later, after uninstalling the software and removing the infected files I was actually able to print postage. At least twice a week I encountered a label that simply would not print. Stamps.com offers no recourse for these situations other than to submit a refund request, which takes about 4 weeks to complete.
The absurdity of that aside, I continued to use stamps.com and had regularly $30 to $60 in unprinted labels waiting for refunds. Finally, enough was enough and I decided to cancel my service. The first annoying aspect of this was that the CSR attempted to convince me to keep the service. Once they finally accepted my cancellation, I was told I was to receive a check for any outstanding un used postage including any refunds which were still due - I was owed $32 in unprinted shipping labels.
The check did not arrive, and I contacted stamps, com only to be told that since I had cancelled my account, they would be unable to refund my misprinted or UN PRINTED postage. I was told that the only way to get my money back was to open a new account, at a charge of $15.99 for 30 days and then my refund could be credited to that account. I refused that offer, contacted USPS and was advised the same. I then filed complaints with both the postmaster general and consumerwatchdog.org. Two days later, I received a check from stamps.com for $32.
I will never use them again I will stand in line at the post office first. I now use ebay's shipping service powered by (((competitor's name redacted))). i have never has a misprint, which would not be an issue because ebay allows the user 24 hours to reprint the lable. Also, unlike stamps.com you can print post dated postage, mail the next day as opposed to having to mail by 5 pm on the day the label is purchased, and I receive a significant discount over stamps.com prices, up to 30%. Stamps.com claims to offer discounted rates but with the monthly charge you are always going to pay more, and if you have the issues I have you'll always have money out of pocket for unprintable labels. Most especially if you use ebay, avoid stamps.com
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
