STEVEN DECASTRO, ATTORNEY STEVEN DECASTRO, LAWYER INCOMPETENT/ COULD NOT AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICE/ DID NOT RETURN THE MONEY ($4,000) NEW YORK, New York

Steven Decastro is pathetic and the case was NOT dismissed for lack of merit. It was not dismissed at all and client eventually WON! Steven Decastro was too incompetent to handle it and client eventually won the case WITHOUT DECASTRO. Because of Decastro's incompetence and unethical behavior, the case took three years but client eventually recovered and won and was awarded $16,000. Client was then directly told to sue Steven Decastro and other previous attorney for their incompetence. Steven Decatsro is clearly a desperate pathetic man. Also, since he knows that he is being sued in Supreme Court (as stated by him), then why doesn't he show up or answer? He is currently being sued in a NY Supreme Court case where he has never showed up to answer. It is case #116783/2010 and it is an ACTIVE CASE NOT DISMISSED because Decatsro never showed up to face the judge! This report is now being turned over to the judge also. To date (Sept 26, 2012), Steven Decastro is also currently under investigation by the attorney disciplinary committee First Department where he has NO VALID DEFENSE! He is also apparently out of business and is using a Queens apartment for his business now. I can clearly see how that happened and why his broke tail kept my money ($4,000). He definitely couldn't (and didn't) properly function as an attorney with the case, and probably couldn't afford to repay the money so he resorted to unethical behavior and theft.  He will now answer to the legal profession for contaminating it. His behavior towards me as a client was completely unethical, unkind, substandard, disappointing, and just horrible! Yes he's right, I had to finally take an aggressive stand and address the terrorism and financial gang rape by the unethical attorneys. I definitely can't help what Steven Decastro and the other unethical attorneys did to me, but I can help what I do about it! I'm proud that I was able to survive the abuse by Steven Decastro and the others and finally do something about it. The legal profession and its consumers will now be much better off without these contaminating and dangerous aspects. 

This complainant is a plaintiff in a lawsuit in which she sued every lawyer involved on both sides in a court case.  In the underlying court case, the complainant Ms. Alves was represented by a series of attorneys, who all, one by one, chose to withdraw because of disputes they had with their client.  The lawsuit is named Caprice Alves v. 152-154 West 151st Street Holding et al.  NY County Index No. 116783/2010. 

Mr. De Castro was mentioned as a defendant along with five other lawyers.  Incredibly, soon after the lawsuit against the lawyers was commenced, Ms. Alves had a dispute with the lawyer she hired to commence the lawsuit, and that lawyer subsequently withdrew as counsel.  In the subsequent months, the judge in New York Supreme Court issued a series of orders dismissing the case as without merit as to a number of defendants.  Included in the dismissal was the attorney that the complainant is citing in this alleged ripoff report.  Therefore, the complainant in this case filed a lawsuit against several lawyers of which Mr. DeCastro was one, and the charges against Mr. De Castro were found to be so lacking in merit as to be dismissed without a trial.
