November 2010,

I purchased a replacement factory indorsed Sylvania HID conversion kit from SUVLIGHTS.com for around $419 plus shipping. During the purchase I and asked if it was possible to upgrade the bulbs to a different color temperature. Someone from the company replied and said it could be done for an additional $50. So I opted for the color change and paid an additional $50.

2 weeks later the package came to my house without the bulb upgrade. I called and got a hold of someone at their warehouse that was actually helpful and said no problem well get some out to you ASAP and to send them back the originals. Another week and half goes by and I then received the  bulbs and installed that day. Not even 1 week goes by when my driver side light goes out. So being an intelligent person I tested the HID bulb and ballast with the other side and found the ballast to be defective. I then used a old Ballast so that I would have operating headlights. A week later the other side burns out.

I then sent a very detailed E-mail to SUVLIGHTS.COM as you will read below,

"I trust that you have received my package and found that I sent back the correct bulbs. You have been very accommodating in regards to my last purchase and I would never want to jeopardize a good business relationship, especially when it comes to future purchases and warranty claims. This brings me to my next point. Both of the ballasts in the new X2020 kit have burned out. I have tested and swapped bulbs and ballast with my old X2020 kit and found the new bulbs you sent to be operational. Do I need RA # to ship the two bad ballasts back to you?  Im puzzled how this could have happened so soon and appreciate your help in this matter."

I tried asking for a RA# as it states on their website and all I got back was an E-mail that said "DONE".... So I assumed it was ok to send them the defective units. A few weeks went by and I had yet to receive any replacement parts or had any communication from the company. So I send another E-mail with the tracking number and I got back this.

YOU SEND IT TO VALEO NOT US

ALL THAT DID WAS DELAY AND
CONTACT THEM NOT US

THEY HAVE THE PARTS NOT US

The bottom line is SUVLIGTS does not stand behind their product nor did they care if you have a problem. As soon as they got their money I was just another visitor on their website. They gave me the run around for months and then told me that I would have to deal with the Sylvania sales rep for any warranty repairs. I have now realized that the route of the problem was with their "upgraded" bulbs they charged me an Additional $50 for when I originally purchased the kit. Thanks to the people at Sylvania its now April and I have working headlights and have started to regain faith in the Sylvania brand but one thing is for sure, I will NEVER purchase anything from SUVLIGHTS.com again and neither anyone reading this. Its simply amazing how a .com company can still be in business with the way SUVLIGHTS treats people before and after the sale.

#2 REBUTTAL Owner of company

False and inaccurate postings

AUTHOR: suvlights - (United States of America)

Our website and company has not accepted orders since 2011, we are focusing on Research & Development for other companies, the first reviewer ironically wrote us an email thanking us for our help then backstabbed by posting a negative review.

If he had followed our instructions which we sent him, he would have had a quicker resolution.  Instead of sending us the defective item then we would have to then send to the manufacturer he was upset that the manufactuerer was not better in assisting him.  So instead of taking it out on them (which is a large faceless company).  He took it out on us , as we explained to him its a manufacturer warranty and unfortunately they didn't respond to him as quickly as they should and we did try to contact them to assist.

2nd reviewer is obviously a fake, since we searched thru customer list and as we said have not accepted orders since 2011, and most likely works for an online reputation fix it company, that we never pay and do not usually respond to online postings since we always work with the person directly.

Suggest ou look up the stories on the BBB and how they extort business owners to join to get preferably ratings, the salesman (thats what they are) called to sell their services we paid $500 for multi year then was not given the multi year and they are going thru their own issues with reputation.

#3 Consumer Comment

Suv Lights fraud.

AUTHOR: Monvic Smith - (United States of America)

Yes, these guys are dishonest. I see they have had some success removing a few of the many, many bad reviews at various sites. That must be where they concentrate their energy, because they certainly don't attempt to perform adequate customer service. I had a very similar experience to the above story. Should have checked the BBB. For awhile they raged against the BBB on their website, but got stopped due to misappropriating the BBB logo. That was in their BBB file as well. Anyway, think about it. These guys are always right, and the BBB are the bad guys. Yeah, that's the kind of service they offer. Stay away. They have a well deserved F rating. Their webpage is crashed now anyway, so perhaps they went out of business. Also well deserved.
