I didn't have a problem with Safe Harbor until I put my credit card on my account so my monthly $90 could be taken out automatically. Well, one day they start charging me these $25 fees stating I missed my appointments when I have never missed or r/s an appointment. SO that was a fun phone call to make, trying to get the charge taken off. Eventually it was credited to my account. This happened a few times and finally I wised up and took my cc off.
Here's the real kicker. My handset my stolen. Yes, stolen. Only my luck. Well, it doesn't say this in the document they give you at the install, but you have to pay roughly $1000 to have a new one put in. Yes, let me just pull that out of my arse. Anyhow, if you cannot pay it and cannot have a new one installed, DMV is notified and if the handset is out of your car for more than 72 hours....guess what? Your contract starts ALL OVER AGAIN! So, I was able to coax a "payment plan" out of a Safe Harbor rep (not the arrogant lady). The deal was I would pay $365 to have a new one installed. From then on out, I would pay $100 on top of my monthly $90 until this Feb. when I would get my tax return, my contract would be up and I could pay off the remaining balance. This was the agreement. My handset got stolen in October. My November charge was $190 like I was told. December rolls around. $307 is now due. I was like what??! So I called Safe Harbor. The wonderful "supervisor" told me that she had called me (???) and told me that the original agreement was null because the girl who I had set it up with didn't know what she was doing. She said that we (meaning her and I) had agreed on $307 a month. I'm completely outraged as I was NEVER notified of this and I NEVER agreed on this. I am a single mother of 3. There is no way I would ever agree to something I COULDN'T PAY! I asked to speak to her supervisor. Well apparently there isn't one. She is the end all, be all of Safe Harbor. And no, you cannot speak to the owner because he doesn't "deal with clients." ARGH!!!!!! And if I cannot pay this amount, they will physically come remove it from my vehicle. Nice right?? Unbelievable. Look, I get it that I screwed up, but in no way, shape or form should anyone be treated like this. It is so disgusting and you know what? They can do it. This lady holds some sick kind of power and I think she gets off on it. It sickens me because I have never had any violations, nothing. I learned my lesson believe it or not but they still treat you like some piece of garbage.
My advice...DO NOT USE SAFE HARBOR! They will rape you blind!!!
