I was in this store tonight (4-29) at 9:00pm with my three young kids. I was going to purchase about 8 items. I was waited on at the register by Brandon Derrington. Brandon was rude from the moment he started ringing me out. Never bothered to say "Hi" he would just scan a product and literally throw it down the counter.
One of the items was for my 6-year-old daughter's birthday party on 4-30, and as he threw it down the counter she just looked at me like "Why is he throwing my stuff?"
One of the items I was purchasing did not scan. He said in a VERY RUDE tone "Do you know how much these are?" and I said "no." He told the bagger he would need a price check and the bagger walked off. He asked me again "Do you know how much it was?" and I said "no" again. He said "What do think 2 for $1? $1 each? Cuz I'm not walking back there." I said "Excuse me?" Thinking he MUST be joking. And he said "I'm not walking back for a price check. I'm busy."
Not only were his words rude, but he was talking to me in a rude tone, like I was the biggest inconvenience in his life. At this point, I'm just looking at him. So he says again "I'm getting slammed, I'm not doing a price check." Like I've just asked him to lay down in front of an oncoming car. I said "You know what? Just forget it." and started walking off. I'm not giving one penny to a store that employs someone this rude. Then I turned and told him I had NEVER been treated so rudely in my life and he said "Whatever."
I asked him where his manager was and he said "Right behind me." Apparently the closing manager, KC Nutter, was at the register behind him and NEVER SAID A WORD. I told the manager that he (Brandon) was the RUDEST person I had ever been waited on. I have been shopping at Safeway for YEARS. I cannot believe Safeway would employ such a jerk. He was beyond rude. I think everyone should know what type of customer service to expect from this Safeway.
