My husband also reads these letters. He gets great joy from them and his relationship with God blossoms each time. Let us not be quick to judge the messangers, but to hear the message. Unanswered prayers are sometimes, just God's will. Some tribulations we go through have a greater purpose, sometimes they are a test of faith. Even Jesus suffered tribulations and tests from the devil, but he said to God, If it is your will, so it shall be.
