I have no comment whatsoever on any of the above. But I can tell you something about the kind-hearted, charitable Sakers. Huffington Post reports that they have contributed $26,000 to one state legislator's political campaign in 2012 (can that be right? -- but that's why it says). 

The two-page list is nothing but the names of Saker family members over and over again. I am a bit unclear about the dollar limit that an individual can contribute to one political candidate, but my research shows $2600 and the Saker contributions exceed that by ten times -- which may explain why they have used multiple business titles and many individual contributions as a way to circumvent the law.

This actions does not indicate ethics or honesty.

Neither do their stores or employees.

The simple fact is that there are other supermarkets and if you shop carefully, their prices are comparable and you are not enriching the pockets of lowlifes.

Your report is false! How do I know this? The Saker's are a well known family in Monmouth County, and they are charitable as well. Unlike a woman who thinks she has a right to help herself to property that does not belong to her! Honey, it doesn't matter if it is 50 cents. How dare you attack them after they were gracious to let you off the hook. 

Again, for whoever reads this put yourself in my shoes. 

1. The amount in question is $20 (one of the things was mine but they put it in anyway so it is really $11).  Again, I had a wagon full of food worth $200 fully paid for so I clearly did not go there to steal.  It happened, and I regret it but if Scott M. Kelly would think about it and stop acting like a bully, maybe he could see this.  I guess he is so used to being a bully and stomping on people that he cannot see that there are some people who just made a mistake and not everyone has a rap sheet as long as Fifth Avenue.

2. I get it - that they dont tolerate stealing however, since this was such a small amount and I had no prior record why spoil a person's record and ability to work?  My answer is that Scott M. Kelly and his staff enjoy hurting people and wanted to bring me down.  Hatred of women?  Hatred of Jews?  All of the above?  I bet if i was a 6'5" athletic male, they would not have treated me that way. 

3. Scott M. Kelly and the security staff are BULLIES.  I have spoken with many community leaders in Lakewood and Freehold  and spread the word, and they also told me that Saker Shop Rite does this for a living.  They accuse employees as well of stealing.  I have an email from a former employee that attests to this.  I will bring it to show the judge.

4. You are innocent until proven guilty, so they had no right to shove, push and speak abusively to me.  I discussed this with the community leaders as well.  In Shop Rite you are guilty until proven innocent. 

5. Is Scott M. Kelly and his security staff perfect?  I doubt it.  I understand that they need to do their job, but they also lied to me that if i cooperated (which i did) and the security guy could attest to it, that no police would be called.  They lied and now I have to live with this.

6. I think if Scott M. Kelly and his staff could put themselves in someone's shoes 'to err is human to forgive divine" they would be better people.

7. I am forbidden to return there, not that I would and I talk about what happened to me with everyone.  All the rabbis and priests I spoke to told me that everyone makes mistakes and in the scheme of things, a minor thing like that should not have ended up with a SWAT team shoving and pushing me and making anti Semitic remarks and also trying to incite me by talking about me as if I wasnt there.  
In the scheme of things, I am a law abiding citizen, minus this thing.  I am not a murderer, child molester, etc.   I should be given a second chance.

8. I know that Scott M. Kelly had it in for me because I overheard him on his cell phone, he didnt see me sitting close by until it was too late.  I wrote everything down and will surely repeat this to a judge.  My lawyer on the other hand was nothing but professional, calm and wonderful and that is why he works in a large firm and is listed as a Super Lawyer on Lexus Nexus.

9. In conclusion, I am sure that Scott M. Kelly and his staff bullies everyone and in my experience you cannot reason with a bully.  So I will NOT try to reason with him.  I will instead let a judge do that for me.  I am sure that a reasonable judge will see that Scott M. Kelly is out to ruin someone who had a bad day.  Everyone has a bad day, but to Scott M. Kelly everyone is a hardened criminal who deserves to go to jail.  I will also tell the judge that he wanted me cuffed and booked like on TV.

10.  The only perfect people are 6 feet under.  Therefore, I know that the wheels of justice grind slowly.  I hope that someday REAL justice is served and that people will not shop at that place because honestly I got a taste of what Gitmo must be like.  If it weren't the US, I would have thought I was in Cuba. 

All of that for < $20 and a wagon full of paid for food.  Wow! 

Anyone reading this please put yourself in my shoes and you will see what I mean.

I am the person that Scott M. Kelly is referring to.

Firstly, I will apologize to Scott M. Kelly as I had a BAD DAY AND MADE A MISTAKE.

However, Scott M. Kelly did not mention the following:

1. I was a first time offender -NO criminal record

2. Clearly I DID NOT GO TO SHOP RITE WITH THE INTENTION OF STEALING because I had a full wagon full of food that I PAID FOR WITH RECEIPTS AND THEY CHECKED 5 TIMES OVER.  Why would I risk my record for $20?   Clearly I was not myself.  I was going through a horrible period in my life and was heavily medicated and under the care of a mental health professional. 

3. I was in a very bad state of mind, that day 7/4 was the anniversary of my dad's death.  I was in a heavily medicated state and was blacking out intermittenly.   I told Saker Shop Rite's Loss prevention team this and they called me a DRUG ADDICT.

4. When i was in the back room, the Loss Prevention team made many anti Semitic remarks about the shoppers.  I am Jewish, and they just talked over me like I wasn't there.  They said "I cannot believe she is so calm, etc.  I realize that they thought of me of a criminal but where is any decency??  They acted like terrorists.  I thought they were going to harm me.  No REAL officer of the law was present when they did this.  When the officer arrived, they acted better of course.

5. I did plead to a lesser charge but they conveiently left "SHOPLIFTING" as the major charge.  I cannot pass a criminal background check and cannot get a job.  I am about to be homeless with TWO MINOR CHILDREN. This is their charity endeavors?

6. I overheard Scott M. Kelly on his cell phone as he was talking loudly to his boss about RUINING ME and NAILING ME TO THE WALL. 

7. I assert again that I had a bad day, and ruining my chances to work is not fitting of the crime.    Saker Shop Rite just wanted to punish me.

8. The Loss prevention crew pushed and shoved me and also promised me that nothing would happen if I cooperated.  I did cooperate and they gave me the MAXIMUM PUNISHMENT - not being able to pass a criminal background check, so a former taxpayer is now not able to work and pay taxes.  Good move.

Again, Scott M. Kelly, I apologize - I am very sorry that i had that day in my life IT RUINED MY LIFE and the life of two minor children.  I know this makes you happy as you seem to like to hurt people.  So you hurt me, who was a productive citizen with a mental disability (read the ADA) and now I am unable to work. 

I guess you feel powerful now.

Charity??  Hardly.  I doubt the rabbis in Lakewood would agree.  Charity is forgiveness and you did not forgive me for a disability that I cannot help, I was working on it but now that i will be homeless I am not sure what will become of my precious children.  Charity???

Scott M. Kelly neglected to mention the whole story, so I will tell it.  I had a bad day, and for this I will be forever branded a criminal AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!.  Scott M. Kelly is a cruel man..  I wrote a letter of apology for my behavior which he and Shop Rite ignored. 

I will apologize again, Scott M. Kelly but I HAD A BAD DAY.  Could you understand that???  For that you and your employer Saker Shop Rite have ruined my life.  i realize that I did a bad thing, but in the scheme of things, I would hardly say I am dangerous and of course I dont want to go back to the store, even passing it in the car is traumatizing.  I have been sick since the incident and I know you are celebrating ruining my and my children's life over $10 or $20 which you got back - one of the items was mine and you took it.

1. I had a wagon full of paid merchandise so I clearly did not go there to steal.  They went over this wagon multiple times and all was fine.

2. The amount in question is $10 (they claimed $20) - and I was a first time offender.  For this I had to pay them $1000.  I thought that the punishment was way over the top....They could have shown a little sympathy for a person who admitted that they were mentally ill.

3. I was in a bad mental state as this was the first anniversary of my parents' death in a car accident and I was heavily medicated.

4. I heard Scott M. Kelly on his cell phone outside the courthouse talking to his bosses and he said he wanted to NAIL ME TO THE WALL.

5. The loss prevention guys VERY roughly pushed me and hurt my arm. When i was in their back room of hell, they were making anti Semitic remarks about the shoppers (orthodox Jews) on their screens and calling me a drug addict because I reached for my prescription medicine.  I had NO illegal drugs on me as I am NOT a drug addict. They insisted I was and they continued to call me horrible names and try to incite me to act up but I didnt.  They clearly wanted me to do something else so they could lie about it.

6.  I told them that I was under doctor's care (psychiatrist) but they did not want to hear of it, as they were determined to make an example of me.  Remember, I had NO PRIOR RECORD.

7.  They let me plea to a municipal charge but the "shoplifting" charge is still there and it will not let me pass a criminal background check so I cannot get a job.

8.  I mentioned that I am a single mom of two minors who MUST WORK and Scott M. KElly and Saker ShopRite have left me unemployable.  So much for charitable endeavors.  I made a mistake and for this me and my two kids will be homeless soon.

So Scott M. Kelly, you are a hero when two wonderful minor children and their mentally ill mother will be on the street for a $20 offense, after PAYING FOR $200 worth of merchandise.  I apologize again, but you don't care because hurting people especially me makes you happy. 

I am not a bad person, I am a SICK person.  IF you cannot respect the mentally ill, then enjoy hurting me and my two wonderful minor children.  You have prevented me from getting a job for my one mistake in life - a $20 MISTAKE.  I am sure you are celebrating now.

I had a case in the Lakewood Municipal Court where the Defendant (through the ardent representation of her defense counsel) was eventually allowed to plead guilty to a violation of the Lakewood Township Borough Ordinances instead of shoplifting under Title 2C of the New Jersey criminal statutes. As part of her plea agreement, she had to pay Shoprite $1,000.00. I suspect that the Defendant, who calls herself "anonymous," is actually R.B.

R.B. was observed in the Lakewood Shoprite concealing merchandise and then attempting to leave the store without paying for the same. She was observed by Shoprite's undercover Loss Prevention Officers. After R.B. was apprehended, she sent threatening and disparaging letters to Shoprite. Her threats only hardened Shoprite's resolve to see that she was prosecuted for her actions. Once R.B. realized that her threats had been completely ignored, she resorted to groveling. R.B. had a well respected attorney who advocated well for his client and the aforementioned plea was offered, which R.B. happily accepted. R.B. was forbidden to ever return to the Lakewood Shoprite.

As opposed to the assertions made by R.B., a plea agreement with the terms she accepted is extremely rare.

The Saker family owns a number of Shop Rite stores and they are usually denoted as World Class. The Saker family is extremely philanthropic and practices their charitable endeavors in their private lives as well as through their stores. It was magnanimous of the corporate office to extend to R.B. the plea agreement she plead out to after the threats and disparaging comments she made against the store and the owners.

Saker Shoprites employ a LARGE security staff. Undercover Loss Prevention Officers walk the floor and there are dozens of state-of-the-art security cameras. Shoplifing and employee theft are not tolerated. While Saker Shoprite appreciates that the economy if difficult for some people, shoplifting causes the price of goods to go up for everyone.
