My next billing date I recieved 0.00 due and a 177.79 credit. It also showed a payment of 222.30 recieved 01-18-08.
The next statement dated 02-11-08 they said no payments no credits and my balance was now 242.45 with a 15.00 late fee & 3.99 interest fee and the 177.79 purchase (which 2 weeks before I had a credit to cover)They claim to never have recieved the 222.30 payment even though it was on my last statement.
My previous balance of 44.51 had suddenly changed to 45.67 which left a deficit of 1.16???I called them on 02-20-08 and spoke to Mary 64112 and told her what was going on and she said there was no record of my 222.30 payment in Jan.She told me to send a copy of the check to them.Guess what?
They converted the check and there is NO copy.I spoke to my bank and they wrote me a letter saying that GEMB DID take the money.I sent a copy of that with a copy of the last two statements which clearly showed I had paid it in FULL and EARLY.I dont know how they came up with the previous statement figure and have me owing 1.16.I have kept every reciept and statement and thank goodness I did or I dont know what they might pull.
I told Mary that I would NEVER do business with GEMB again! It has been 1 week and I still have the charges on my card and they havent bothered to contact me. I cannot believe their business practices! Also I have had this card for over 3 years and have NEVER got any rewards like they promised.I have NEVER been late on ANY of my charge cards either!Keep your records even if they acknowledge they recieved them keep it an extra month.

ONGOING SCAM WITH GEMB NOT POSTING PAYMENTS
AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, April 08, 2009
POSTED: Wednesday, April 08, 2009I had to get the Office of Thrift Supervision to make them fix the problems GEMB made to my JCPenney account, after they forced it into default and sold it to a collection agency due fraudulent charges and an unauthorized change to my mailing address. NOT ONE CALL WAS MADE TO ME!
I believe-but cannot prove that the fraudulent charges were from someone inside of GEMB taking advantage of the unauthorized address change as they appeared within a week of the change. Knowing that it would be months before I learned anything about it!
No one else had access to my account info and I leave my rarely used dept store cards locked up safe at home until I need them.

FINALLY answers!
AUTHOR: Amy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 06, 2008She also credited my payment to my account.I asked her to please close the account and send my final bill which I payed off online moments ago. I hope this is the end of this story,we shall see. I refuse to do business with people who make mistakes and put the burden of proof solely on the innocent party. Even after I sent all the proof and jumped through all their hoops they wouldnt even respond to me or acknowledge they received any payment or what happened to it. After getting Joanne from my local Sams Club involved the payment was found within minutes and the apologies were flowing.
In all my dealings with credit card companies when you call you get answers! With GEMB you send your payment to Texas and you have to call Florida for customer service they have no fax or anything then they want you to send your proof to two different addresses in Texas! Im glad I am rid of this company. Never again! 3 weeks of pure hell.

TRY AGAIN
AUTHOR: Conrad - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, March 06, 2008
POSTED: Thursday, March 06, 2008I had a similar problem with my Sam's Club credit card. The person I talked to indicated they were changing to a new system. It took me two calls and an pointed email to get positive results.
You might check their web site, in my case they actually showed receiving my payment on time but posted them two days later. The did remove all late and interest fees.
The only suggestion I can make is to call again and if you don't get a good answer ask for a supervisor, above all be polite.
I just posted my experience but it is not on the site as yet.

POSTED: Friday, February 29, 2008I will never do business with them again and I am afraid to send them my 205.40 payoff for fear they will take it and not acknowledge they recieved it.I cant believe they can do this to people. Who is protecting the consumer? They would make a lot more money to keep their customers rather than cheat them out of a few hundred dollars and loose their business.
