I really don't know who to blame,I'm just upset how this was handled, Buying a KDS monitor at Sam's Club with a service plan was a very bad idea. In 12/15/2005, I purchased a 19" LCD monitor exited because I was doing a good upgrade on my PC and to make sure everything was going to be fine I also purchased a service plan in case anything happens.
Well something did happen, in 12/13/2006 the monitor went on a blank screen, at first I just thought it was the power saving features of the OS, I start using the PC and the monitor didn't turn on, just to make sure I rebooted the PC, and notice that each time I turn off/on the monitor it will come up for 2 seconds and then go blank. Start having the feeling the monitor had problems, so i did some basic troubleshooting, at most basic switch the monitor for the old CRT monitor and the PC worked fine. So it was evident the LCD 19" KDS was not working. So with my service plan bought with Sam's I went to customer service and they told me that the service only was applied just after the manufactures warranty expired, the monitor supposed to have a 3 year warranty with KDS, so they had to offer the warranty before Sam's did. This causes that I had to ship the monitor to texas being the closest KDS Tech Service Office. So I make all the arrangements and all I needed was the RMA requests from KDS. I started calling every week to KDS numbers of customer support just having a busy signal every time I called for the next 4/5 months, I called from cell phones, home phones, business phones and I aways had the same results.
When I finally get someone to talk to, on May 2007 I explain the situation that I had with the monitor, that I needed a RMA request to ship it. They tell me to look for the warranty information on that came with the monitor, being a registration card and warranty info. The person asked me to tell them the amount of time that the card said the manufactures warranty was and said 12 month of warranty that KDS offers with the monitor. So the person told me that if I purchased a service plan with Sam's, they should give me the warranty. So I called back again to Sam's Service Plan service, once again I had to explain everything about the monitor situation, warranty info, etc.... While I waited they research information of warranty for the monitor, just to be told that they had information about the monitor specifying that it had a 3 years manufactures warranty and they don't have to apply warranty, I explain what KDS support told me and they said to me that they will do more research on it and will call me back with what they found, still waiting for the call. Now, no company wants to give warranty and I'm stuck with the broken monitor by the time the it cost $340, might not be much but caused lots of frustration.
