I am outraged that Samsung Electronics would even OFFER a warranty on any of their products when it is pretty well known that they rarely honor it! I bought a Samsung Galaxy s2 at Best Buy (through their participation with Tmobile) and almost immediately, i was having issues with it running slowly. This was my first smart phone ever, so i thought maybe that was normal. It only got worse..But after about 2 months of having the phone, it started to show a sign up top that was a circle with a strike through it, which meant that even though i had bars and service, i for some reason was unable to receive/make calls, and same for texts- thus making the phone utterly useless to me and the service i pay so much for! This is a purely technical issue, as is the freezing issues I had..and I knew that Samsung had a 1 yr warranty, despite its clauses that it has to be defective, and not a user-caused problem/damage. I emailed them THREE times, with no response- finally did a live chat and assured them it was not anything I did. They told me to send it in, they'd check it out and fix it. I got an email a week later saying it was repaired, on its way back to me! YAY! And the invoice in the envelope said the same. You can imagine my disappointment when I turned it on and the EXACT same issues appeared immediately! I called them, and the rep told me it was "beyond economic repair" and that it had "liquid damage" thus voiding the warranty! I explained there is NO WAY it could have been liquid damage and the rep told me "it could even be just from the humidity or even the sweat from the palm of your hand!" HOW RIDICULOUS! Anyway, I had it checked out a few other places and I learned how to check ANY phone for liquid contact (every phone & battery has a white strip or piece that turns pink or red when it gets wet, and mine was unquestionably WHITE still! as i knew it would be!) So they flat out LIED to me, all to shirk their responsibility to me and the warranty they promise! They also said it had TONS of scratches, and i can only see ONE KNICK that is barely even visible, but that is besides the point- i never asked for scratches or knicks to be fixed, just the technical things! I have contacted them time and time again to tell them that they LIED to me and I have filed THREE seperate times with the BBB against them, and no action ever gets taken! I am fed up with a company like this ALWAYS conveniently finding fault to be the users, just so they don't have to honor their warranties! This company is rated the 3rd worst for customer service in the WORLD (NOT just US!) and now i learned firsthand why! A 600$ phone that I have owned only 4 months (two of which i haven't even been able to use it) and totally useless to me now. THANKS samsung! BEWARE of this company!!
