On July 27, 2013 I contacted the Internet Sales division about a 2013 Chevy Silverado pickup they had advertised on their website. Since the pricing was based on the "End Of Year Sales Event", the Internet Sales Manager convinced me that I needed to come down and buy the truck that day. 35 minutes later I walked onto the lot and low an behold the advertised truck was "sold".
As it turns out that was not a bad thing, it happens that the Internet Sales Manager and I are both dog lovers so after explaining my requirements and budget to him, he handed me off to Bill Lohmeyer. Bill was absolutely great to work with, he listened to what my budget and requirements were and then worked hard to find the vehicle I needed at worked REALLY hard to get the price of that vehicle into my budget. I ended up buying a used 2010 Ford Expedition, and I paid the full amount in cash.
No ripoff right? Well it was after the I drove off with the Expedition that everything went off the rails.
When I paid for the Expedition, I gave Sand Chevrolet Glendale one check for the full amount of the sales contract and a second check for a third party 3 year extended warranty. 4 days after I drove off the lot they called me and asked that I comeback in there was a "problem" with the paperwork. First they had made a 'mistake' on the license plate transfer paperwork and second there was a $2,500 discrepency and I "owed" them the additional $2,500.00 (starting to sound familiar?). I grabbed my sales contract that clearly shows a "Balance Due" of 'N/A' and headed back to the Dealer. Using my copy of the sales contract and after some instruction in basic math they finally agreed that there was no discrepency and I did not owe them any additional monies.
But it does not end there, I traded in my previous car for the car that I got and Sands Chevrolet Glendale filled out the paperwork to transfer the plates from my old car to the newer car.
THREE weeks after the sale, I got a letter from the MVD (Arizona DOT - Motor Vehicle Division) threatening to suspend my registration and license plates because I no longer carry insurance ON THE CAR I TRADED IN.
I immediate called the MVD and I spoke to a MVD representative who told me they have received NO paperwork from Sands Chevrolet Glendale to title, register or transfer the plates from the previous car to the newer car.
Now remeber this was a complete cash sale, no financing, no liens and THREE WEEKS later and Sandd Chevrolet Glendale has not taken the steps necessary to complete the sale and transfer. I do not know what Sands is doing, but I do no this is TOTALLY UNACCEPABLE and I can not in good conscience recommend Sands Chevrolet Glendale if they can not do a simple thing like complete the paperwork!
