We made our 72 payments on our car loan contract end of September 2012. two months ago we receive another bill for over $2'700.00, I don't how this happen because our contract say " 09/12 and we still owe money"?

Robert's Comment May Not Be Correct...

AUTHOR: Citibank-Santander Victim - (United States of America)

Greetings,

Robert's comment to your post is correct so long as all your payments are on time. But Santander will typically change due dates on consumer accounts without notifying you. If this happens Santander will add whatever amount they please to the end of your loan and tell you to pay or loose your vehicle. My loan covered a period of 5 years & 9 months, for a total of 71 payments. My loan matured in November 2012 and the account was paid in full.

Over the life of the loan only two of my payments were late. One was 4 days late, the second payment was one day late. Both times Santander charged me $697.97 in late fees without informing me. These two "late fees" were added as 5 payments to the end of my loan, totaling, $1,395.65.

So if your account has been well maintained and payments are on time does not mean you won't be charged excessive and fraudulent fees by this company. I refer you to read the following...

Question

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

Making 72 payments isn't always enough.

Did you make every single one of those 72 payments on-time and for the full amount, and didn't receive any deferments?

If the answer is no then there is your reason.  Your payments were based on making 72 payments on a specific date and specific amount.  If you failed to do that you can be charged additional Interest and possibly late fees.  If this happened at the beginning of the loan over several years that can add up to quite a bit of money.

Now, if you have made every single payment on-time and for the full amount you need to contact them to see what they say.  You also should get a statement from them showing your payment history and look for any discrepancy with your records.
