Sasha Transport Inc. STI Movers pulled a BAIT-AND-SWITCH and LIED to me Skokie, Illinois

Do not use STI Movers. They pulled a bait-and-switch on me and ripped me off. I chose STI from a group of potential moving companies because they promised me a flat rate of $262.50 for moving my one bedroom apartment.  No other company offered a flat rate. I signed paperwork in which the flat rate was called an "estimate"; the sales consultant, "Max", told me that was because I would probably incur some charges for incidentals such as furniture wrap, tape, etc....

Not only were the movers late, but they charged me the hourly rate for the move which came to over $400. When I called STI to get the charges changed, they had the nerve to tell me that they never said they would charge me a flat rate. I tried to point out that the paperwork I signed contained the flat rate; they countered by pointing out that their usual hourly charge was mentioned elsewhere in the paperwork and said "You signed paperwork that stated our hourly rate, so that is what we are charging you." So, they used DECEPTIVE practices to fool me into signing deceptive paperwork that appeared to quote me a flat rate, but it contained a loophole that allowed them to get away with charging me the hourly rate instead. And they had the nerve to LIE to me and try to convince me they never said they would give me a flat rate. These people are jerks. Don't use them.
