This site says it is for parents to discuss their thoughts or concerns. But they only want to read what is acceptable to them. "Them" are the various moderators. One moderator, in particular, is downright mean. She has deleted my posts because she disagrees with my opinion. The other parents had no issue with my writings. It got so bad that we started emailing back and forth. She started with accusations about my mothering skills. Very mean spirited words from this woman. I was so incensed with her judgement. But worst of all, she has the power to delete posts - so, forget about discussing anything which she deems unacceptable. She has a very narrow view of schizophrenia and if she disagrees with your questions or opinions, then she will either delete the post or block others from posting on your thread. Thus, there is no freedom to discuss what is on your mind as a parent. There is no give and take on this site. There is just their way or the highway. Forget about discussing new research. This site is stuck in the past. She told me to get off their site and go somewhere else. Not at all welcoming. No freedom to discuss what is on your mind.
