OK, I'm new to the trucking industry, but I'm not blind to issues surrounding fair compensation. The trucking industry seems to find it exceptable pactice to require hours of unpaid service. NO OTHER INDUSTRY GETS AWAY WITH THIS CRAP. I've seen posts gripping about under paid miles, and without a doubt this theift in an age where GPS, and GOOGLE can map out the exact travel distance to within a few feet. I've seen posts defending the practice saying drivers take advantage of exact milage pay by leaving the route to pad the milage.  AGAIN I REFER YOU TO GPS AND GOOGLE as a resource to log the exact route deversion taken by a driver. The point being no company has the right to cheat drivers out of pay by using a crappy system in this day and age.

Now lets look at the issue of live loading or unloading. Schneider for the most part, and most other trucking companies find it exceptable pactice to cheat the driver out of the pay they should be getting when docking for a live load, or unload. The company does not pay hours of service from the time you enter a companies recieving yard, and they all are aware of the fact they're robbing the drivers blind. The hours of service record the driver keeps should be showing "on duty" statis during these live loads if they comply with the law. The law says your on duty, but your company says your working for free. THIS KIND OF DOUBLE STANDARD IS NOTHING MORE THAN STEALLING FROM THE DRIVERS WAGES.

i'VE GIVEN A FEW EVERYDAY EXAMPLES OF COMPANY THEIFT AGAINST THE DRIVERS. IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE THE ****** TO DEFEND THIS PACTICE, GO FOR IT. I'LL READ YOUR POST.  AT THIS POINT AND TIME THESE TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE IN THE SAME BOAT AS MAYDOFF, AND NIXON. <<<<<<< I AM NOT A CROOK>>>>>>>>>>> LOL

Here's a real example of what happens when you work for SCHNEIDER NATIONAL. This doesnt happen everyday, but you'll see a variation of what I'll discribe 3 or 4 times a week.

You just did a live unload in a large city, and let dispatch know your empty. Dispatch sends you a work order to take your empty trailer to Joes dog food distribution, and do a live load of 46000 lbs. the expected load time is 2 hrs. Being in the same city you get no paid miles to go from your current location to Joes using Schneider miles. Being 46000 lbs you need to scale to make sure your legal. It took you 1 hr in traffic to reach joes, and you just drove 12 unpaid miles.  You scaled the load and spent another hr driving 8 mile to the scale, scaling the load, and driving 8 mi back to get on route in heavy traffic. Your work order says to bring the load to the XYZ operation center and drop for relay. It's 14 miles paid miles to the  schneider XYZ operation center. Congrates you just worked 4 hrs for Schneider, and got $5.00 in milage pay.  You burned your 14 hr clock, and got almost nothing for 4 hrs of service to the company.  DO THE MATH, you made $1.25 per hour working for  schneider.
Organized theift by the trucking industry is everywhere, but that does not make it right. I know it's not just Schneider playing this game, and only used their name as an example of what is going on out there. It's my opinion, and we all have one, so I dont expect blanket agreement.

I guess that crapper had to hire a paralegal to try and silence the people who they have wronged scumbags with money do this to try and frighten and intimated not very professional or ethical

This is not very professional or ethical for a company to treat somebody. To try and sick a paralegal on the victims to try and slience them. I have told the wrong schnideder has done to me at the unfairness and discrimination so they need to leave me and all the other drivers who they have wronged alone.  Well they did get rid of their training school because all they did was fire new drivers who have been through their traninng school for any and everything. And they was left with the $4,000 training cost that they still have to pay back regardless.

This isn't right to treat somebody and put false information on their DAC for them not to get hire at other companies. And the drivers credit is unjustly ruined because they can't pay back the money because they're unemployed.

not all true

yes the industry uses an outdated system (the household movers guide) but its the intire nation not just schneider.

as for the time spent at a dock the 2 hours you spent being loaded is unpaid. but anytime after that starting at 2 hours is paid (detention pay)

also with the mileage any load you have where you are dispatched less than 50 miles is short haul $50 and i goes from there so you didnt drive for "free"

and the "on duty" comment is false you only have to be on duty for a load/unload if you have any responsibility to that load. if you are not on the dock and just sitting in the sleeper you should be on line 2(sleeper beerth)  same for unload

so in this scenario you would have only "worked" maybe two hours because the two at the dock arnt on duty

and im sorry if you spent two hours in traffic your not to smart... you should have found an alternate route or asked your dbl to help you find one

you should have asked all these questions when you signed on

my take on this is its your fault for not educating yourself enough on the job when you signed on

im not saying schneider is the t**s its not its just like any other large trucking companie i.e.swift,jb hunt, werner, knight,cr england, crst and so on
