first and for most todd and i agreed on a price, after i paid him 50% of the bid up front he increased the price by 40,000. And he said if I don't sign and agree to the change he will not do the work. and i will not get my 125,000 back i would have to chase him for it. he then proceeded to work and then left the job for 3 months, all the while telling me he drinks 30 beers a night and a bottle of "kry" vodka, i don't know the exact spelling, anyway he finished that off every 3rd day. that's the reason he carries mouth wash in his office and car.
he then threatened me on every twist and turn. he would always threaten work stoppage if i didn't agree to upgrades. after bullying me he would then bring me in his office and show me porn to try and break the ice. he was so perverted he would flirt with every female vendor we would come across. always making perverted remarks, this from a man that preached "family" when i first signed him. claiming "what his wife don't know won't hurt her." he cheats on her every chance he gets. asking if my wife and i swing?
after being five months late on his promised delivery date, he took one more shot at upping the price when i finally stood my ground, he threatened my wife and my 2 young boys, that threat i have on audio tape. as well as others. even though he was paid in full he did not pay many sub contractors that worked on my house, its going on a year now and i'm still getting liens off my house because of todd. the money he tried and charge me at the end, he put a lien on my house anyway to try and collect, even though i didn't sign anything. it cost me over 10,000 in legal fees to clean up todd's mess. he is the scum of the earth that has his eyes on your wallet the moment he meets you. Lastly we had to hire other contractors to fix and/or complete what todd missed. plus we have a complaint log with the electrical board in newark nj. because he cheated the sub out of his money, so todd did the work illegally himself. he also has many alias' and many judgements against he and his wife. former buisness partners as well. i can provide all this upon request, i now have a file as thick as a phone book on this guy. i would not want anyone to go through what i did....

Todd...you know our job was completed. As a matter of fact the homeowner comes in a times to purchases fireplace accessories.( yup! using and enjoying OUR fireplace that YOU never paid us for) And you also know YOU signed the checks. None of my EMPLOYEES sign our checks. Only the owners. You presented yourself for several years of dealing with you as the OWNER....stop the smoke screen..it's not working. You will reap what you have sown. what comes around goes around.....
Presenting your self as the owner and using your OWN checks to pay for subs...make you liable! oh but you know that because a judge just found you liable for all the money you owed Corio Builders..... this is a small town Todd. ;)

Pick a new profession and stop hurting people. You are the worst person I ever met. If you just stop ripping people off you wouldn't have to defend yourself. Please don't lie, Seaport was in your wife's name only because your name was burned to many times in past scams. I saw and met your wife there, you called the shots. So stop lying. You even go so far as saying I owned a Mini? I had to borrow that car off my brother because I was broke after you ripped me off. Never owned a mini. It took my family years to recover from your scam. Lost in this is you really have some know how. The love of the "con" far out weighs any talent you may have. That's why I say try something else so you wont hurt
anyone anymore.
Whoever deals with you knows first your a "con" man, and second your a drunk. Do you still carry around mouth wash in your car to cover up the smell? Trying to avoid another DWI?. Your a rotten person that should get help for your problems and change your profession. The fact that you can continue to masquerade as a respectable contractor and take peoples money should be criminal.
You take homeowners, clients and sub-contractors for all they have and then fold up shop and move on to the next "mark". Obviously it's finally catching up to you. So just go away.
Contractors are like a quart of milk, eventually they will go bad. Remember that one. That was one of your infamous lines. I feel horrible for the families you hurt including your own.

As discussed with you, I was an employee of Seaport Builders (not an owner) which had a homeowner purchase a fireplace from you. The job was not completed by Fireplaces Plus resulting in a
homeowner that did not pay for the work. My personal life had nothing to do with it and it really was not necessary to bring it up. Your invoices should be billed to Seaport Builders and the homeowner should be billed once Fireplaces Plus actually completes the work. If I can help guide you in any of this since you dont seem to understand common billing practices, please feel free to contact me at 732-597-2699. I was under the impression that companies requesting work by subs and homeowners are billednot employees of companies. Silly me

In Response to Hopewell Health Enforcement Officer,
This property was not owned or maintained at by me at the time of the issue. As soon as I was made aware of the attorneys error in transferring the deed, I corrected it. This complaint was for overgrown grass and selective enforcement was utilized as various neighbors also had the same issue on their properties. Notices of violation were sent by the town to a Somerset, NJ address that was never occupied by me.
I made several attempts at contacting both the mayor and business administrator to no avail. Simply amazing the way local governments work at times. By the way, I am quite easy to find and you can reach me at any time at 732-597-2699.

This home was built per the contract. All change orders were signed. The client had a c/o and moved in. He was at the job each day without any complaints. This customer left Seaport Builders with an unpaid bill of $43,199.87 after burning his own house down.
Insurance fraud at its finest. Prior to the house fire, the man drove a Jeep and a Mini Cooper. Afterward, it changed to a Mercedes and a Saab. Who profited?
This customer makes it a practice to hire contractors and not hold to his end of the contract. Anyone wishing to question these claims may contact me directly at 732-597-2699 and I will be happy to provide the documentation to back up my response and provide them with a list of satisfied customers that paid their bills and received quality workmanship.

Thank you for this info. Todd ripped us off too. He purchased a fireplace from us, Fireplaces Plus in Manahawkin and has never paid. Thank you for this info, his office is now on the same road as us!!
After leaving a note on his door he called and said he no longer works for Seaport Builders, he was never the owner and he has been fired by his wife! He claims she has thrown him out and is divorcing him and we should take up the outstanding invoice with her.
Again, thank you for this updated info on what he is now calling Causeway Construction.

Once again Todd Leatherman has destroyed another business and left many customers, subs and suppliers looking for money. Now he has decided to start another company under a new name. This time it is Causeway Contruction LLC 1316 E. Bay Avenue, Manahawkin, NJ 08050 causewayconstruction.com. He is also doing business as Outdoor Showers. He also has another business called lockertek LLC.
He used to run Seaport Builder which also did business as Outdoor Showers of NJ. He is so arrogant that he even forwarded the website from outdoorshowersnj.com to his new website outdoor-showers.com. Other companies that Todd Leatherman has run into the ground are LDMG, LLC Leatherman Builders Leatherman Development and Management Company. Protect yourself stay away from this business or any business that Todd Leatherman is a part of.

Ongoing Enforcement

I am a Health Enforcement Officer in Hopewell Township, Mercer County, NJ. I have been addressing a series of nuisance conditions created by Mr. Todd Leatherman DBA LDMG for a couple years. Todd stripped a lot and abandoned the property, which is now grown into a public health nuisance that reoccurs annually.
I have 3 active warrants for Mr. Leatherman's arrest and a pending summons; but have been unsuccessful in getting him to address his issues. I am looking for his home address, eye color, and/or date of birth. With this information I will be able to have the court suspend his drivers license. He will be unable to have license reinstated without dealing with these problems.
If anyone has any factual information regarding Mr. Leatherman's home address, eye color and/or date of birth, I would love to hear from you. You can find my information in the Township's website under the Health Dept. Though I am unable to assist you with your problems regarding Mr. Leatherman, perhaps assisting me could help people who too suffer at the hands of Mr. Leatherman's business practices. I can confirm Mr. Leatherman has created and abandoned unsanitary conditions within the Township of Hopewell. Furthermore, he has refused to face the changes before him.
