Do Not Buy from Sears Parts Direct. The part may be more inexpensive but it will cost you in the end.
I purchased a part for an appliance from the online store. The part was in stock according to the site and I elected to purchased 2 day expedited delivery at a charge of $22 because I needed the appliance up and running.
I noticed that evening that my credit card was charged immediately and for the incorrect amount. I therefore called the company to inquire about the charges for the order and was advised that the additional charge was a placeholder and would be credited back within 24 hours. Very odd. It is now 48 hours after and the charge is still not credited. Good thing I paid with Amex.
On the 3rd day, I was expecting shipment however the afternoon came and gone with no shipment. I called Sears to inquire about the shipment since I had not received a tracking number with the order. I was then advised that the part would be shipped directly from the manufacturer and the expected delivery date is September 6th. That is almost 3 weeks away.
I asked to speak with a manager and they advised that I could not cancel the order because it was already send to the manufacturer(3rd party) however they can attempt to stop the delivery and will credit shipping. I advised that I can't have an appliance down for 3 weeks so I do not need the part. He proceeded to say it was not their fault that it was backordered. So is it my fault?
I purchased the product from Sears because of the name. I should have read the other rip off reports because it is now the weekend and I still have no part. I will be escalating to Executive Management at Sears. Please never buy an item from Sears or a Sears affiliated company again.
