Sears warranty plans are a joke.
I bought a home on 6 Sep. 2013, from an estate sell. The owner bought the home in Dec. 2012. She purchased a new Maytag refridgerator. Model # MF12670XEW6. Serial # K23011341. It leaks, the ice is building up under the bottom freezer drawer, and it leaks. After considerable run around I spoke with Christina Badge #252327. She felt that she was the top rung on the ladder. She worked in Sears Customer Solutions. She refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. I can't maneuver my way thru the hurdles of the internet site she gave me. shc@customerservice.sears.com This fridge can't be over a year old and I'm sure with a refridgerator this expensive she bought an extended warranty. A warranty usually follows the appliance not the owner, and if it did follow the owner, if they don't continue to play games with me, it probably isn't a year old yet.
If indeed this is the way Sears treats their customers, it's time they stop getting our collective business, for anything. After all that's what put Montgomery Wards out of business.

SwiftThunder1,
Thank you for the information and we are sorry for the experience you’ve had when calling our Support line. We also apologize that we’ve been unable to prove the purchase/ purchase date of the refrigerator in order to provide service under warranty. Until we can identify the proper unit via a phone number, salescheck receipt or address of the original purchaser we would not be able to determine the current warranty status. Armed with purchase information we’d be happy to assist you with your warranty repair concern. If you would like to discuss this situation further, please send the following information to smadvisor@searshc.com – contact number and phone number used at time of purchase. Also please provide this screen name (SwiftThunder1) for reference to this issue. Again, we’re sorry for any trouble experienced and we hope to talk to you soon.
