Placed order at sears.com 11/2 ($2,000 item), website said it was in stock. After I placed the order I called to confirm it was in stock, I was told it was.

11/5 I checked the order status online and it said expected delivery of 1/3/2013. Delivery date is not acceptable so I called customer service to cancel, I was told it would take 24-48 hours. 11/7 order has not been cancelled. I called again and said I am calling to cancel an order. I was told our systems are down, call back in six hours. Also sent email to customer service, have not received a reply.

11/8 called again, I was told it would take 5-7 days to cancel order. I said NO, get into the system NOW and cancel. He got very nervous and kept repeating that the rules say 5-7 days. I said I wanted to talk to a supervisor, I was put on hold for 40 minutes, I finally had to hang up (which is what he wanted me to do). Order status still says processing.

On 11/8 I received an email from customer serviced (I sent email on 11/5). Email said the cancellation process was automated and may take several days. On 11/9, late afternoon I received an email saying the order was canceled and credit card refunded. I plan to call credit card company to ensure.
