Let the sellers beware- despite the fact that this company takes out HUGE multi-page ads in the local papers about them coming to your area & touting themselves as paying the top price for your scrap gold they actually offer a VERY low price. I sold them 17.6 wt of 10k gold for $112 which works out to $6.36 per. A couple of phone calls later I learned I could have sold it locally at Fresno Coin for $9.85 per and even better at Marquez Jewelry for $14.65 per. I sold them a small amount of 14k for $9.13 per wt only to learn that Marquez was buying 14K at $20 per wt yesterday. I went along with a friend to this event and Im very sorry that I did so.

I have attended 3 Secured Gold Buyer events, 1 in Santa Barbara & 2 in Santa Maria. I found them to be very fair and very informative. The first time I took about 12 grams of 10k. They paid me $7.85 gram. They explained to me how much gold is in 10K, 14K, 18K, etc. They also did everything in front of me. They sorted the gold from the plated pieces, they graded them & weighed them all right there. When I finished my 1st transaction they explained that the more stuff I brought in the higher the payout per gram would be. Plus they told me I would get a 10% bonus as a return customer. The 2nd trip I brought in 27 grams of 14k and was paid $17.85 gram. The third trip I brought in sterling silver & was very happy with that payout. The best thing about them (besides that they paid in cash & I felt like I was involved in the process) is that they educated about the whole process and did not push me to sell anything. They told me what I had and what they could offer, and even were open to a little negotiation. I feel like I did better on my 2nd & 3rd visits because I had learned a little about the process and knew what gold & silver were selling for the day I went in. So I had a better idea about how much I was willing to take. As in everything, the more informed you are, the better deal you're going to get. It is a company in business for a profit after all. But I feel like, though I didn't get top dollar my first time around, I got the education I needed for the next 2 rounds, and any in the future.
