Securitas Security USA, INC. rip-off! Houston Texas

    There is a huge amount of corruption, that has gone on with this particular Company. I worked there for a few years contracted with a Oil and Gas Company in Southwest Houston. It was truly unfortunate to see the injustices that took place (The Site Supervisor and Branch Manager both egomaniacs and culprits) they did sexually harass the female officers, but the tough part about the alert line was it was outsourced and any complaints were often never recieved. any complaints or personal information was never in confidential.I am reasonable and intelligent, whether you acted like this or that--they are still suppose to maintain a level of professionalism,that should reflect good reports for the company. The contract was lost effective Jan5,2013----Expect more contracts to be lost due to poor management and the real truth being divulged. I hope J.R site supervisor and T.A branch manager get exactly what in due for them. these two guys really treated Officer poorly and got away due to the forced signing of arbitration letters. Violating rights and abusing people isnt what securitas had in mind when the company a good reputation years ago........

I think the original complaint was more in line with what I experienced at SOME places where I worked but not many because when you are a night specialist, there aren't too many people who were BRAVE enough to work where I worked and do what I do... Saw some rather bad stuff happen but when you carry a gun to work with you every night, that's how it goes...

The security company should keep those employees so busy that they don't have time to harrass anybody --and just do their job and then just go home.

And the company who uses security guards had better do the same....

An idle mind is the devil's workshop. When idiots have time to plot and schemehow they will make their co-workers' lives hell,,, then they should not be working there.

I was never sexually harrassed with lewd remarks and obscene names or propositions or anything like that on any of the posts I worked BUT I had a LOT of "Hostile Work Environment" generated by YOUNG WASP males who were bored and stupid and probably has issues with women anyway and would have had regarless of their ethnicity or religion!

They made my job HELL!

Good luck in your lawsuit for those of us who did not have enough money to sue or find an attorney who was interested!

I'm very sorry that you had so many problems with the man (so-called supervisor) that you had. I, personally, am a black woman who also had problems with sexual harrassment on the job, but with a client employee. Thanks to a very smart and savvy supervisor (who is, incidentally, white), the client employee was dealt with quickly and severely. He was TERMINATED from his position! I have been with the company almost 4 years now with no complaints other than my relieving officer not showing up on time and the terrible weather conditions that make our job so much harder. I've never been an a**-kisser and after being in the military, this job is a breeze. If you really want something to complain about, try being in Colorado on bivouac in -12 degree weather for 8 days!

By the way, I'm also educated and don't appreciate the term "nigger". I grew up in a bad area of Houston and still hear the word being slung around like someone's just saying 'Hello' to a friend. As an African-American, you should realize that if you act like one, you'll be treated like one!

It's time to grow up, realize that you were in a bad place at that time (dealing with a real a**-hole which every company has irregardless of who,what,when, where, and so on), and take care of whatever you feel you need to do. If it's a lawsuit, so be it, but don't blame an entire company for what some of its employees think they're getting away with. It's going to come back to haunt them in the worst way, and like my Mama says "Lil' Sista, take care of your biness but be a grownup 'bout it! No whinin' now, ya heah?"

Sandra, I feel very sad about the experiance you have reported here. I am employed by the same company and in Houston, Texas. I have to say that I have found Securitas to be an outstanding company which takes very seriously complaints such as yours. The company has had a toll-free number for as long as I have been employed. It offers it to associates who have any sort of complaints such as the one you have listed (It is called the "AlertLine"). I can assure you that if you contacted this number the company would have been immediate in it's reponse to you and this complaint.

I wish you luck in the future, but would encourage you not to sue Securitas. Free and easy money is just not realistic. Every ridiculous lawsuit costs jobs and make everyone pay more for insurance, no matter whether you were involved or not.

Especially one of this nature. If you were termed. then i would bet you were in the wrong. I must admit I did want to be on your side all the way to the "White Man" comment.
