Hello All,

I got a small loan at the Security Finance office in Henryetta Oklahoma. During the process they were polite and seemed honest. (I needed the loan to pay for my grandmothers funeral.) The next day they started the phone calls. I would receive 5-6 calls in a 3 hour period, after I would talk with someone. All of them asking when I would be in for my payment. I tried to explain that I had just got the loan but the phone calls continued.

The next week they started coming by my job and harassing my managers to speak with me, or they would call the store. Sometimes one would call the store while another was at the store. This caused me to lose my job because of the scene it was causing with the customers.

It feels horrible because I just buried my grandmother and now I have to deal with the harassment from these people. It wouldn't help to talk to the manager, because she is one of the ones calling.

What should/can I do. I've been making the payments and they continue to Harass. They are even now going as far as going to my mothers job and home, harassing her.

#5 Consumer Suggestion

Security Finance

AUTHOR: Ashley - (United States of America)

1st of all get the Supervisor information, he/she usually handles less than 10 offices around the area. Let her know what has happened. You never know what she can do for you. Keep track of all the recordings the leave on your message machine. If someone tells you that Security Finance called and talked to them ask what about. Revealing personal information like how many days you are due or the amount you are due for is illegal. Keep track dates and time. If a 3rd party gets a call for you, it is the employees job to remove the number if the 3rd party asks for them not to call back.

You can always call their complaint number and if they dont want to give it to you, call another office and ask them for it.

You can always file a cease and desist, I dont even think you need an attourney to file one with that office. But Im not 100% sure, look it up and see if you can just get a notary to notarize it

Hope this has been helpful

Somethings not right

I work for a security finance in oklahoma and everything that you've said is very odd. If you are current on your account, we don't call you. If you just open a loan, you don';t get called the next day to make your first payment. Once the payments is missed we call once the day after, and twice a day after that if we do not make contact. Read the back of the contract you sign. It isn't harassment to try to make contact with you if a payment is missed and no contact has been made. All you should have to do is call and keep in contact. when you give references, you're agreeing that it is ok for the employees to call them to try to get in touch with you. My suggestion is next time,  read before you sign, or don't get the loan.

#2 UPDATE Employee

constant calls

AUTHOR: damnyankee31 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 25, 2012

im an employee with security finace in georgia, im also tired of the way this company treats people who has owed this company money. as far as the calls go they can call you many many times a day, but they can only leave 2 or 3 messages a day i believe its 2. now if they were coming to your job , always ask  what they said word for word, cause if they told anybody anything about your acount with them, as far if payment is due, who they work for or even if they talked to you about your acount in fron of others,   that is called third party disclorure and violates federal law.

remember all debt collectors have to follow the...  (fair debt collection act )     and      (the fair debt collection practices act)

they are a long boring reading but you would be suprised at what debt collectors  cant do.......they also cant call for colletions before your due date, only for a friendly reminder, collection should only start the day after your do date.

to anybody who reads this thaks for your time, its been the worst collections job if ever had, and i hope the info helps.

If your story is true and factual, I would contact their corporate office. If you do not get somewhere with them contact your states consumer protection division.
