I originally inquired about an account with securus technologies. I was informed for local calls that I would only b charged appr .88 per call. Originally Louisiana state penn was with global tel link but now they r with securus..If u google Louisiana state penn with securus there is a website by the jail that gives anoticestating that only June 12,2012 that they will noob securus n rates will b approximately .88 per call locally. I originally had another telephone number but securus blocked it and asked for proof of my cell bill to which I provided twice via fax but then was asked for proof of my cell history so I changes my number all together to another local number. Ur then was charged over $5 per call. I called to speak to a rep but was given a run around and a fax number toad in a dispute letter. What clearly disturbed me was how do u determine but by opinion what is considered to be a local or long distance when either way my number began with 225 area code. Originally speaking with a rep prior to setting up an account u r informed that the calls will b .88 plus tax..I had a balance of $125 n now I have a balance of $45 now that my number is still 225 area code but is infact local...securus is clearly a rip off and has no intentions of getting this resolved nor refunding me my money..I have several other family members whom we speak to the same relative that was informed this same info..please google this info I provided and u will see the site as well as the prison has provided the same misguided info
