I have the Queen 7000 dual wired remote.  I bought in Sept 2006.  I wanted to replace the pillow top foam with cover.  $982.00.  Thats $982.00 for foam and cover.  Plus I reported that one side was changing the number on it's own from 75 to either 50 or 100.  The tech's response was the body temp or air temp around the bed can cause a 30 point change.  Funny how my side stays at the set number while my wife's changes up or down 25 points. Bad theory.  Plus should it not stay at what you set anyway?  Thats the point of "select number" system.

Don't waste your money.

Select Comfort Replacement Pillow Top

AUTHOR: John S. - ()

POSTED: Saturday, April 19, 2014

You can get a replacement top only for your Select Comfort without changing the shell (bottom part). In fact, most people that I have talked to recommend that you do not mess with the "plumbing" part of your Select Comfort to ensure that you do not create a leaking problem that you otherwise wouldn't have had. As far as the idea that they are "hand sewn" and therefore "must" be purchased as a set does not settle well with me, since I have personally sewn dozens of tops only that fit perfectly onto every different shell they went on to. You do need specialized mattress sewing equipment to get Select Comfort's offset YKK zipper pattern. I do not sew them anymore, but I know that the company I work for still does and sells them all the time as a replacement top only that is guaranteed to fit Sleep Number beds. There are different kinds to fit different models, like the classic series, Ultra Series, etc. Their website is MagicSleeper.net. And by the way, the queen classic price is (I beleive) $300 with free shipping, not $800 plus shipping.

Sleep number bed owner too

AUTHOR: Illinois driver - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, December 04, 2011

I can agree the sleep number control is a joke to say the least. Its not even close to being accurate. You can inflate the unit for 5 seconds and maybe jump 20 digits or just 5. You never know. I max inflated to 100 and then rechecked a minute later and it was 85. Five minutes later it was 75. Got up laid back down and it was at 90. Its a gimmick as everything is these days. Your better off just adjusting to how you sleep and forget about the numbers. If you must waste money on a sleep number bed like I did. I bought 3 of them!

Don't waste your money on anything but the cheapest model. Better yet just go out a buy a decent regular mattress  and forget about the Sleep Number beds. I can tell you the quality is not there. We have had the side foam break down, the bed frame creeks and moans after a while. We bought them because I am a truck driver and thought it would help my back. But after several years I can say my back is no better and the pressure points are just as bad as with a regular mattress. I can definitely say with all honesty that I would not have spent the money on Sleep number beds knowing what I know now.

We'd Like To Help

AUTHOR: Steph@SC - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 18, 2010

Hello. Im Stephanie and I work as a member of Select Comforts online customer service team. I wanted to apologize for the issue that you are experiencing with your bed. Select Comfort values your opinion and we would like to assure you that the issue is not a common one. The covers are hand sewn and are not able to be used with your existing shell (bottom part of cover). To ensure that the cover zips together correctly, we only sell the cover as a set. While fluctuation can occur due to a variety of factors (similar to tire pressure, but on a larger scale), it is not expected that it should happen on a frequent basis. One factor to take into consideration is that people will sleep at different temperatures and in different positions, which can explain why one persons side may change more than their sleep partners. However, we do have some tips we can offer to you if you feel that the changes in setting are not explained by barometric pressure, temperature and sleep position. For more information, Id like to offer our assistance through customer service. Customer Service can be reached at 1-800-472-7185.
