What a JOKE this company is. We have waited since Jan 11th 2003 to have a claim processed against the Hampton Inn in Charlottesville, Va.
This claim is a no brainer, The Hampton Inn NOW-X-Employee made a duplicate key for a stranger with out proper security measures, no Id, no verfication he belonged in our room and with out contacting us.
We were at a business meeting 4 blocks away when this incident happened.. Needless to say, he cleaned out (as in STOLE) every thing valuable and also had EXCESS to our hotel room registerd to 2 middle aged white women alone.
We FILED all Reports with Hotel, POLICE and we were CLEARED as to any involment..
We have all documentation as to lock readings, the employee and manger admitted to making the 3rd key with out doing any SECURITY CHECK.,,, PLUS,, I might add, THE SECURITY CAMERA at the Desk and Main Lobby was not working or may be this STRANGE 6'2 Black Man might have been ID & caught.
My peeve is Why are they dragging their feet. WE WERE the Victims here, It took us 3 calls & 2 weeks JUST to get the District Manager to have SELECTIVE INS to call for OUR statements.
Selective now has had 5-6 weeks to settle this and When WE call its the same story,, should have it done by the end of week..2 weeks have now gone by AGAIN and still NO CALL or SETTLEMENT.
The Hampton refuses to even talk to us about it.
I think its time for a law suit.
WE wonder why our INSURANCE COSTS are so outrages, WE have to pay for their lawyers, the time it takes for them to fight a claim, when something like this is in BLACK and WHITE and on paper, ( Thanks to the police who made the HAMPTON give me copies of reports, readings and admissions of their NEGLECT.)
