I have had issues since becoming a resident of Sendera Champion Forest Apartments in January 2003. I have had numerous issues with the failure of the complex management to live up to maintenance standards. It takes numerous requests and usually a letter to several levels of management from the Sendera Champion Forest on-site management office through to the corporate management office of Greystar Property Management to get even the simplest of repairs completed and then only when I threaten to complain to a regulatory agency.
Neither the on-site management office nor the property management company has taken these issues seriously. Finally, after going through all of the above mentioned channels I was able to get out of my lease early (May 31st of this year). I am however concerned that due to the inattention to my maintenance requests that my deposit may be withheld in whole or portion to cover the subsequent deterioration of the apartment that has resulted from these maintenance requests being ignored.
Almost a month ago, I again went into the on-site office of Sendera Champion Forest and reiterated the apartment's issues to the new apartment manager, Debbie. Per Debbie, they would get right on addressing my concerns. To date, they have not. Last week I went into the office yet again. I asked Debbie is there a particular reason that repairs continue to be neglected. Per Debbie: No, no reason. I'll get right on that. Maintenance issues continue to date including brown water issuing from the bathtub, black slime issuing from the bathroom sink.
The repairs that have been made have been poorly done and in most cases just band aides on the problem (i.e. painting over water spots on the ceiling rather than repairing the source). Other repairs have not only failed to repair the issue but have made it worse such as the replaced vanity faucets that leak onto the countertop every time you turn them on. TV reception is poor and it took months for me to get them to put a phone jack IN THE LIVING ROOM.
The standard of living maintained by this complex is shoddy to say the best and a danger to it's residents to say the worst. Exterior maintenance issues include: green or brown pools, huge potholes in the parking lot, crooked road parking lines complete with paint sprayed on the sparse grass that exists, non-working "security" gate complete with large holes where the track belongs, stinky tar smell, rampant fire ant issues, etc.
In the last year I have witnessed all manner of outrageous behavior from drugs, car break ins, attempted assaults and domestic squabbles. My neighbors include a psycho deaf man who blasts his TV so loud I can hear it throughout my entire apartment ever night who illegally hooks up cable, a teenie bopper hangout that includes alcohol and a young weed smoking wanna be Eminem whos hobbies include domestic squabbles with his girlfriend that include ramming in the door. Is the complex aware of all of this? Yes. Do they do anything to stop it? Not that I've seen.
Add to all of this they have 0 real amenities (excluding the 2 polluted pools and the 1 small barely functional laundry shack) and you've got yourself a real winner of an apartment home.
