Complaint Review: Server Virtual
Server VirtualInternet United States of America
Server Virtual American Express, Amex, Serve The company accepted a trasnfer of funds into my account, than locked it and refuse to give me back the funds, Internet
After opening my account I was cautious about using the card so I of course proceeded with caution when loading my card. Loading only small amounts every so often. My first few transaction went well and I was quite happy. After a few more larger deposits and transactions I began to feel more confident towards the company.
The whole point of me getting that particular card, was the no fees and the card to card transfer ability. My husband just got a new job and he travels out of town a lot. We needed a card that we could get direct deposits on and would be able to transfer funds between accounts.
We currently use Visa Rush. But with them we pay quite a bit in fees. So I was checking out Serve believing it would benefit us in the way of reducing our fees.
With everything going well, the company 'ripoff' couldn't have come at a more disappointing time. My husband was working out of town and I needed to get groceries and my prescription medication. He transferred me some money to my account. Serve accepted the transfer and allowed me to some of the funds. When I was denied at the pharmacist I knew it was a mistake. I contacted Serve and they told me that they had put a hold on my account and that I would not be able to access funds until I faxed them a copy of my drivers license, social security card, and a bank statement.
I was reluctant to send them a copy of these documents. It just seemed odd to me that they would ask for personal and confidential documentation when these documents were not required to open the account. I do have my drivers license and social security card but I don't have a bank statement. If I had a bank, I wouldn't need a prepaid card.
I explained to them that I don't have a bank account and needed to find another way to fix the problem. They then told me that I had violated the terms and conditions of the contract by allowing my husband to transfer money to me and that there is nothing they can do. In short, they are keeping the remaining balance on my card and there is nothing I can do about it. The company is a ripoff. I advise anyone and everyone, do not use this company.
