Service Contractors Plumbing was contracted by my home warranty company to replace my water heater...Code upgrades were not included in that price. The company over charged me by more than $250 dollars (I got a quote from two other companies). Service contractors marked up the supplies they used by over 5 times. For an Aluminium Drain Pan which cost $19.98 (same brand exact same pan retail) Service Contractors charged me $118.00 for a Dielectric Union which retails between $25 - $45 Service Contractors Charged me $115 for a Gas Sediment Trap which retails for $12 I was charged $115 and for a Temperature and Pressure value (a $13 retail item) I was charged $85. I asked if I could provide my own supplies and no was the answer. I asked to use my own plumber to provide the service (even with the trip charge it would have cost me over $250 less), no was the answer. I have been told that the home warranty companies do not pay these companies enough and it appears that Service Contractors Plumbing and the man claiming to be the owner Kenny opted to grossly over charge the consumer instead. When I asked repeatedly that the price be lowered they did give me a $50 discount...but still overcharged me by huge amount. I requested that American Home Shield intervene on my behalf and they would not, but stated they would only pay a maximum of $250 for the code upgrade. I requested that I be allowed to use another plumber but AHS would have only given me $425 to do so...which would not have covered the cost and which also speaks to why Service Contractors was trying to recoup their cost. I confronted owner Kenny on this he basically agreed that I was over charged and told me there was nothing I could do about it. If I refused to pay this highly inflated charge he would put a lean on my house. In my opinion he is a very rude and shameless man.
