We bought our home in 2007, and loved our mortgage company. A year later it was changed to another co., then to Met life the following year, two years later to LBPS who then changed their names to Saterus after getting $4,000, out of us to reinstate our loan. At the start our payment was $495/month, after it was given to Met Life we had an incident with ID theft and our bank account was cleaned out, so they were great and were willing to put us on a MOD with our payments being around $300/month for 3 months to give us time to save back up our money. The prob. was that it changed hands to LBPS before the final paperwork was completed. They would NOT allow us to make any payments until a new MOD was done, and that took them 6 months to do. So they decided that they couldn't do a MOD and we would have to pay $4,000 to stop the forcloseure sale on the house. We borrowed the money and they stopped the sale, then our payments went up to $700/month. After about 6 months they contacted us telling us that the payment was incorrect and that we only had to pay $521/month to be put on a permminent MOD, we said OK and started makeing those payments. In March of 2012 we get another forclosure letter, I called them to find out what was going on and they said that the MOD had been thrown out because they didn't recieve the signed paperwork saying that we accepted the MOD.(Even though this was faxed to them 4 times) so after threatening to sue them they do yet another MOD, and our payment is now $948/month+$124(for insurance/taxes). Over $1000/month!!! What the hell is a person suppose to do??? I contacted the Attorney General and filed a complaint, as of yet nothing has happened. If this company tells you that you qualify for a HAMP MOD be careful that they don't double your payment like they have done ours.
