These are all the same company and work together ripping peope off Do not pay them unless they actually load your boat!!!! Ring the Port they claim to be loading out of and check that your boat is actually loaded on the specificed ship before you pay any money. They get money from you to pay for the previous ship they chartered. They are getting close to going under and you can lose your boat BE VERY CAREFUL. Do not use them

There are plenty of good shipping lines and providers out there that are financially stable and ethical. They cannot hold your boat for non-payment when they hit you with an additional charge at the arrival port in Australia  - this is theft - they must get a court order.  If they try to do this to you - get the Police immediately and have them charged.

Their Australian salesman trying to get money at the moment for boats not loaded are Lachlan Taylor and Dean Sharples.

This is whom you are dealing with in Australia - a $1 company:

Don't believe everything you read.

AUTHOR: ECfisher - ()

The author of this rip off report is a freight company that i have dealt with and just been burnt by.

The company is Leisure Freight and Import and i strongly believe she wrote this report in the hope of harrassing the companies named (although one has since been shut down).

I have a boat that was shipped by LFAI and Di Lyons on the ship called Alderney which has now been sitting in Brisbane for 2 weeks. and i still haven't got my boat.

I have paid all freight costs including import GST to Leisure Freight and Import and i'm now being told that i cant get my boat from the wharf. only to be told by the wharf to talk to the lawyers and i'll have to pay more money.

This lady and her company is a sham and i will be reporting her for the fraudulent collection of taxes and money and theft of my boat.

everyone be careful who you deal with - dont let this happen to you! talk to the REAL yacht shipping companies and do your research.

We found Yachtpath very professional

AUTHOR: Polly - (United States of America)

In August we transported our 42" trawler from Fort Lauderdale to Victoria, BC.  Transporting a boat is not only expensive but also a worrisome ordeal.  We were first given a length contract in regards to our transport.  This about scared us away from Yachtpath.  However the owner, Mr. Cummings, personally called to help me understand the contract in details.  We fine tuned it so we both felt comfortable.  Our boat left a few weeks late, due to hurricane Isaac.  Yachtpath kept us and our captain loading the boat informed through emails.

On the way to Victoria, BC the cargo ship carrying our boat, M/V Olympus, ran into some cargo complications in Ensenada, Mexico.  Yachtpath unloaded all their boats and secured them at Cruiseport Village Marina.  That day I received a call from Mr. Cummings explaining the situation.  Yachpath was covering the mooring and wash down of our boat while waiting for another transport to take our boat up to Canada.   The delay in Mexico caused some disruption to our timeline to get the boat to it's final destination in Portland, Oregon.  Working with Mr. Cummings/Yachtpath we decided to keep our boat in Ensenada for the winter and catch a spring transport up to Canada.  We are impressed with how Mr. Cummings runs Yachtpath.

Response to Dave Holley CEO Peters & May Ltd

AUTHOR: Boat Shipping - (Australia)

Dear Mr Holley

Thank you for taking the time to share this information with me and explain the situation more fully.  This certainly helped me to understand what the relationships are.

When I went looking for information on Peters and May in Australia I was unable to find the information you have posted on your website.  That would have been helpful to me before began the process of shipping my boat.

I understood I was dealing with Peters & May Global Logistics then I found out I was dealing with Sevenstar Yacht Transport and that these companies were the same people.  I have been waiting for months for my boat to be shipped from America with numerous excuses as to why it hasn't been shipped yet.  Over a month ago I strated receiving invoices and demands for payment and was told my boat was being loaded.  This wasn't the case.  Now apparently my boat is being loaded - every day I get told it is being loaded and that I must pay now and that I will be charged for the shipping whether my boat is loaded or not.

I rang the Port to check on this and my boat has not been loaded at all.

While it may be frustrating for you it is very upsetting for me.

Perhaps you could give me some assistance considering that I thought I had been dealing with you all along?  I will ring you on the phone number you have provided.  Thank you for providing this.

Response from Peters & May Ltd

AUTHOR: David - (United Kingdom)

Hi,

Thanks once again for your response.

I certainly appreciate your frustration with Peters & May Australia / Sevenstar Australia but it is unreasonable to tarnish the reputation of a company that is not involved in either if these companies.  I re-iterate that neither Peters & May Ltd nor our agents have any involvement with Peters & May Australia, Sevenstar or Yachtpath International.

Below is the text (and link) from our press release issued in November 2011 detailing that Aurora logistics had replaced Peters & May Australia as the exclusive agent for Peters & May in Australia.

http://www.petersandmay.com/index.php/news/peters-may-clarifies-australian-agent

Peters & May cancelled its previous agency agreement with Peters & May Australia after the owner of Peters & May Australia changed alliance and joined up with Sevenstar Yacht Transport.
We had no choice but to distance ourselves from our former agent when they informed us of their allegiance with Sevenstar Yacht Transport.  By working with our competitors they were removed from our network and no longer have the benefit of dealing with our global offices and agents.  Although they continue to trade under the name of Peters & May Australia they have no association with Peters & May or our network.  This may seem confusing to some of our clients as its clear to see that P&M Australia continue to roguely leapfrog on the back of our brand to try and secure business.
We viewed Peters & May Australias association with Sevenstar yacht transport as a stumbling block and that it would prevent them from being independent, thats something we were very uncomfortable with. Our focus continues to be on offering the highest levels of service and by working with Aurora in Australia we can ensure that our clients receive turnkey solutions with class leading service levels.  We remain independent of any carrier association and that allows us to offer turnkey solutions on any trade lane, on any shipping line to any destination. says Dave Holley, CEO of the Peters & May Group.

Unfortunately Dean Sharples had grand father rights to the name Peters & May Australia and we were are unable to get him to change his company name.  We are also aware that he has been falsely utilising our brand to his benefit and will be taking action to prevent this from happening again in the future.

We work hard to maintain our reputation as the leading yacht transporter and we focus on keeping the highest levels of service.  That is why it is particularly frustrating to see our name mentioned in this report when in fact Peters & May Australia / Seven star Australia is nothing to do with us.  I am sure you can appreciate that we will take every step possible to protect our name and false accusations are taken seriously.

Meantime we ask that you change your report to accurately reflect the company as Peters & May Australia / Sevenstar Australia and remove any reference to Peters & May.  In fact we ask that you mention that there is no connection to Peters & May Ltd or our agent Aurora.

I am more than happy to have a discussion with you regarding this report, sometimes it is easier to explain by phone rather than in an email or an online medium.   Please feel free to call me on +44 2380 480480 or send me an email with your contact details to david@petersandmay.com so I can call you.  You can also see the full details of our services / network on our website www.petersandmay.com.

Best regards

Response to Dave Holley CEO Peters & May Ltd

AUTHOR: Boat Shipping - (Australia)

Dear Mr Holley

As you can see from the ASIC extract in the article, not only is Sevenstar and Peters and May one and the same company in Australia with the same ACN (Australian Company Number) and ABN (Australian Business Number) - but Dean Sharples himself not only answers Sevenstar's phone as Peters and May he also advises anyone that calls Sevenstar that he owns Peters and May.  Your deliberately mispronouning Dean Sharples name isn't very convincing and is a smokescreen by you in order to sound vague as if you don't know him.  This seems to be standard Peters and May modus operandi.  Therefore I can see why he is Peters and May Australian subsiduary.  You know exactly whom Dean Sharples is.  He is the owner of Peters and May Australia and Sevenstar Yacht Transport as the ASIC (legal) record states and which Dean Sharples himself confirms.

If this information is incorrect - you need to take it up with Dean Sharples and/or attempt to have the ASIC record changed in Australia.  This may be difficult however as Dean Sharples did indeed own Peters and May in Australia as you well know and you cannot change an accurate legal record with ASIC unless you can prove a fraud has been perpetrated.

If you want to sue someone - I suggest you start with Dean Sharples and Peters and May/Sevenstar Australia.  You may be getting in a long line though.

I am one of a large number of extremely unhappy customers of Sevenstar and Peters and May in Australia!  This is how they present themselves as at todays date - and this is what the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) in Australia has a record of as at todays date.

To deny this is rediculous.  Anyone can look them up in ASIC and see this on the Internet. www.asic.gov.au

Either you are not aware of this - which is rediculous as the "CEO of Peters and May" (where? by the way) - you obviously don't understand the strictness of Australian laws or you are being just as dishonest as your Australian outfit.

Indeed you do book freight on Sevenstar and as you well know Peters and May have had a long standing relationship with Sevenstar from all their offices - so please don't lie about this.  It makes anything else you say dishonest.

I am an ex-customer that will never use Peters and May/Sevenstar or anyone associated with Peters and May/Sevenstar anywhere in the world again.  This includes you!

This is what happens when you deliberately and knowingly rip people off!

Yours sincerely,
The Australian Freighting Population!

Hi.

Peters and may have no involvement in this and should not be referenced in this report. Peters and may have no connection to sevenstar australia, dean sharpies or his employees. Please remove all connection to us in this report as this is not correct and if this is not removed within 7 days we will be forced to involve our lawyers to take action to have any reference to us removed. Our relationship to dean sharpies was cancelled a long time ago and we have no business relationship with seven star as they are our competitors. Your sincerely Dave Holley CEO Peters & May Ltd.
