I was an employee at Andy's Frozen Custard in Columbia, MO for about 4 months last summer.  It was a second job, so I only worked 3 or 4 nights a week.

The manager there is young and incompetent, and doesn't understand that he's not invincible because his father in-law owns the joint.

My first day back after going on a week long vacation with my family, somebody's itouch disappeared.  The girl whose itouch disappeared texted me that night asking if I accidentally picked it up.  I didn't take it so I told her I didn't know what happened to it.

A few days passed, and when I went in to get my schedule for the next week, the manager, Brandon Arnold, asked if i knew what happened to it.  I told him I didn't have a clue.  After I told him I didn't take it, he proceeded to inform me that I was one of the people they had thought was a "suspect" and he decided I had taken it, and informed me that I was fired.

He fired me without any proof whatsoever.  There were 8-10 other employees that were working that night and had access to the break room.  The only reasoning he gave was because I was new, and didn't work as many hours as a lot of the other employees.  Also, apparently the night the itouch disappeared, I mentioned I needed to make more money for college.  Every employee is a college or high school student.

Thanks to the lovely laws in Missouri, an employer and terminate an employee without any reason.  I asked a couple friends' fathers, one of which is the dean of a law school and the other a law professor if there was anything I could do.  I would have gone to court and won, but I would have won enough to pay the lawyer.

Anybody in Columbia should get their ice cream fix elsewhere.  Not just because of this incident, but for the fact it is very dirty.  I was a manager at a different frozen custard place prior to Andy's and I was shocked at the filth in the store.  They don't rinse the blenders between orders (if you have any type of allergies, NEVER go there).

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO SAY ANDY'S FROZEN CUSTARD. Not Shake's.

My apologies.
