I signed my wife up and paid a year in full, in December of 2012 at the Largo location, by March 2013 they were closing that location. Prior to the closing when going in to swim and workout she was met at the door by a Shapes representative and was told she could fill out a form and receive her pro-rated refund. She filled out the form, gave it to the representative who informed her they did not have a copy machine there, but not to worry the form would be turned in. Needless to say some months later they can barely remember having that location, don't have any record of a form being turned in, wouldn't have any idea who the representative was that took the form and thanks for calling your only option now is to go to a co-ed gym with no pool OR drive 8 miles to another Shapes.
I am sure she shares this experience with many other women. Here is the bottom line, Shapes deceived, then ripped off my wife. I am convinced the lack of a copy machine at that location was no coincidence, it was a pre-meditated decision meant to derail and discredit any member that just wanted their money back. Once again, all she wanted was a pro-rated refund, money paid in advance to join the club specifically at that location.
